OPINION: Raising A Generation Of Wimps, Losing A Generation Of Entrepreneurs

Teen Vogue showed the ignorance of a poorly educated and lazy generation by trashing capitalism in favor of socialism. The magazine told kids who act like they read Teen Vogue that capitalism has left the world in a “dystopian ‘Mad Max’ nightmare in which resources have dwindled and rich plutocrats own everything.”

In this view, we should strive for the much more desirable system of socialism. It went on to espouse the virtues of socialism over capitalism. That tone of lazy economic ignorance could foretell problems for our country.

Years of the influence of Obama, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth “Fauxcahontas” Warren and the populist left media have left today’s youngsters thinking that socialism is a utopia of wonderful things for which no one has to pay.

They think socialism’s great offerings are free education, health care and housing. Yet they are not taught history’s clear lesson: Socialism’s three great failures always end up being breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Purposely led to become indoctrinated, ignorant and non-critical thinking socialists.

Thank you pubic school teachers, then unions, TV, universities, media, churches and social media. The Frankfurt School’s plan has worked well, leading to America’s great decay.

A unfortunate truth is that heroes die saving lives.
While wussies live long lives while creating many higher risk single parent homes.

This has been going on for years. The Welfare State destroys peoples’ willingness to work. Entitlements have been untouchable since the 70s and 80s. More and more people get something from the government. The current generation is just the next logical step. Give me what I want whether I work or not. And there is this group of undeserving “rich” people out there who can pay for everything. And they should pay for everything because they don’t deserve what they got. So in these kids’ minds, Socialism is a magical system in which they can live the good life without working and have it paid for by evil people who don’t deserve what they got.

Tonight my 9yo daughter is going to be on a German TV show: The Truth About Men and Women. It was "taped" last Spring and she got paid 200 euros for two days work. Channel RTL at 8:15pm Berlin time.

Basically 100 children were asked questions about men and women relationships and famous people have to guess at what the children answered. The show is on once a week for four weeks.

Staying on parents health care until 26 helps tie the apron strings.

So far as “using up resources” goes, funny thing about that. As one resource is used up or becomes too expensive to extract, distribute or use, a much cheaper and more reliable one appears. Consider whale oil lamps, which relied on the hunting of whales, the stripping off of the blubber, and the rendering of the blubber into oil. When petroleum was discovered to have a fraction that was a more reliable fuel for light, kerosene or “rock oil”, the use of whale oil disappeared almost overnight, and the Rockefeller family grew enormously wealthy, while whaling ship captains died in penury.

The electric light bulb, in turn, made the use of kerosene lanterns pretty much obsolete, as the availability of electricity spread throughout the economy grew, and the use of smaller, more powerful electric storage batteries made those electric lights much more portable.

Innovation assures us that the things once discarded as waste products can be repurposed in many ways, and thus become a whole new resource. But only if we continuously refine the technology, and question old beliefs about the “immutable” nature of “settled science”, and encourage the bright inquiring minds that have brought so much advancement to the human race as a whole.

This creates huge opportunities for our grand kids and great nephews and nieces, who are Entrepreneurs and good workers.

I got out of active duty with the Navy in 1964, and the Hippie Generation was just getting underway.

Besides liking to work with people, I had the DNA of working hard and a real degree in BusAdm, not underwater basket weaving.

Good paying jobs were easy to get and keep. If my employer treated me badly or fell behind the what the competition offered. I could get a job with the competition with better pay, benefits and better commissions/bonuses.

When the hippies supposedly matured and entered the workforce, most were terrible employees.

Then, in the 1970/80’s, hiring was often based on skin color and sex rather than productive traits. Those events again increased my real value.

This past summer our grand kids, nephews and nieces had jobs paying $15 to $20 or more per hour. The college kids have been contacted by their summer employers to work during Christmas and semester breaks with good wages.

A most excellent truism! Words to live by.

A simple question for the young dunces: “Why do you think Apple, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Facebook, Intel, et al did not originate in the USSR, Cuba, Red China or North Korea?”

And why is English the international language for airline travel, the internet, online gaming, the Olympics (with French), intercontinental sports, etc etc etc? Why are there American fast food and disco joints in every nation on earth, but no parallels for Chinese, German, Japanese, Arabic, Brazilian, Thai, or any other major language or culture? Even sign language across the globe is entirely based on the Anglo and French formats.

THERE'S REASONS FOR THIS, KIDS!!!

Being an entrepreneur means that you are quite likely to FAIL multiple times before making it.

Generation Participation Trophy is unfamiliar with this phenomenon.
