43% Say U.S. Heading in Right Direction
Rasmussen Reports ^ | Oct 8, 2016 | Rassmussen Reports

Forty-three percent (43%) of Likely U.S. Voters think the country is heading in the right direction, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey for the week ending October 4.

This is up three points from the previous week. This finding has been running in the 40s for most weeks this year after being in the mid- to upper 20s for much of 2016, President Obama's last full year in office.

This is quite significant. Looking at the trend, this looks to be tied for the single highest result since the tracking starts in 2010, and it wasn't just in the "in the mid- to upper 20s for much of 2016" it was that way for nearly all of the Obama presidency.

Hopefully this is a good sign for the “status quo” in congress, which would be a victory for Trump if we keep our losses to a minimum, i.e. people hate congress but love their congressman. If we can hold the House by just 1 seat it would be a “Morning in America” mid-term and send the lefties scurrying for the hills.

That trend is our friend.

One of the things that drove Conservative nuts during the 1990s was the way Bill Clinton was never held to account by voters. When looking at the 1996 exit polling the biggest reason Clinton won re-election was a “well things are going pretty good right now, I don’t want to rock the boat” mindset among voters

That trend indicates there might be a similar mindset developing in 2018. Both this trend, and the upward trend in Trumps approval numbers, is good new for us.

Wonder how the SCOTUS debacle impacts this. I’m glad it’s done but I don’t think we’re heading in the right direction because of the actions of the demoncrats.

Traffic has been terrible lately. I blame Trump. Too many people driving to work.

And that 57% includes the 47% that Mitt Romney made famous. We’ll never win them over. So Trump put a major dent in the Wrong-Track percentage and just needs to put a dent in the remaining 10% what is “gettable”.

47% won’t think the country is headed in the right direction until housing and health care are free, and unicorn farts turn into gumdrops that land on roads paved with gold.

The rest are just natural born pessimists.

That’s a difficult question to answer. On the left hand, it’s going in the toilet. On the right, Trump is helping to turn it in the right direction.

20% couldn’t be reached because they’re already way right and that leaves the 37%

Look at the date of the article: this is a comment on the Obama Administration, not Trump’s.
