he Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows that 51% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Forty-eight percent (48%) disapprove.

The latest figures include 38% who Strongly Approve of the president is performing and 39% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -1. (see trends).

This is Trump’s highest Presidential Approval Index rating since early March of last year, shortly after he first took office.By comparison, Barack Obama earned a presidential approval index rating of -11 on October 5, 2010, in the second year of his presidency.

This is quite astonishing. Pundits are focused on how the Kavanaugh hearings are stoking up the base, which this poll reflects when it shows that Trumps "Strongly Approve" number is up to 38% from the low 30s.

In my mind what is more significant is that he is simultaneously eroding the enthusiasm of the Democratic base. His Strongly Disapprove" numbers are down from 43% to 44% a couple weeks ago to 39% today.

So that means that as much as 10% of the people who once strongly disapproved of Trump have softened their opposition. What could possibly explain that?

Take a look here:

"For Once, I’m Grateful for Trump -- In the president, one big bully stands up to others."

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/04/opinion/trump-kavanaugh-ford-allegations.html

A die hard pro-impeachment anti-Trumper at the New York Times of all places is grateful that Trump is standing up for due process and the basic idea of 'innocent until proven guilty'. I think this could cause softening of Democrat enthusiasm numbers in addition to increasing Republican enthusiasm. After all, voters who support the proposition that people accused of sexual assault have the burden of disproving their guilt were already fired-up anti-Trump voters.

Wait until next week when the release of Dem memos, documents, behind closed doors testimony makes it clear how dirty Dims paid for Russian lies, engaged in deep state FBI, DOJ dirty polics comes out.

Trump polling is going to continue to go up and Dims enthusiasm is going to collapse after they lose the Kavanaugh fight because of their dirty tactics, smearing a decent man.

The release of evidence and indictments of Dim conspirators working for HRC will bring independent to vote GOP.

I know a good number of their target audience and I do not know of one who supports their tactics with being anti Kavanaugh. Hopefully that is not just an anomaly.

astonishing indeed ... particularly in the face of universal lying propaganda 24x7x365 by the entire damnable Lying Leftist Fake Stream Enemedia™ ...

and then there’s this, which is even more astonishing:

-1% approval index for Trump vs. -11% for obama at the same time in their Presidencies ...

The establishment groups in both parties believe they have the ears of women voters whenever they have an issue like sexual harassment or abortion. Most women I know are very sharp when it comes to seeing insincerity for what it is. This whole mess reeks of saying one thing but believing another.

36% of African Americans approve.......and another 5% refuse to answer. Gee, how ya think the latter group feels? :^)

So in reality Trump has about 40% approval from African Americans. Generally any Republican approval above 15% of African Americans is considered the danger zone for Democrats. 40% is an utter catastrophe for them.
