If I were a nominee for the Supreme Court (it requires far higher standards than myself unless I were a democrat) and made this statement I would be proven a damn liar most quickly.

This is a major statement about who he is.
Any young man can have sex in college and those who don't, unless they look like Quasimodo, have made a decision not to.
You can look at Kavanaugh's education and career and easily see he was a young man with his eyes set firmly on the future. Men like that, young and not so young, know that the future can be ripped from them if they don't stay the course.
I am guessing Kavanaugh was taught this by his parents and priests at Georgetown Prep. They saw his potential and advised him that to attend Yale or any other top school he would have to be a straight arrow.
And it is evident that he was.
