Fight for Kavanaugh
National Review ^ | September 24, 2018 12:03 AM

The cynics — or, perhaps more precisely, the realists — believed that the Democrats were playing for time in the hopes of finding another accusation against Brett Kavanaugh. The cynics were right.

The New Yorker stooped to publish a shoddy story alleging that Kavanaugh exposed himself to a woman while he was at Yale. The alleged incident occurred at a drunken party when both were in their freshman year. What’s extraordinary is that the woman making the charge, a fellow Yale student named Deborah Ramirez, admits that she hesitated to come forward because there were such large gaps in her memory.

As the magazine puts it: “In her initial conversations with The New Yorker, she was reluctant to characterize Kavanaugh’s role in the alleged incident with certainty.” She only decided to talk, it says, “after six days of carefully assessing her memories and consulting with her attorney.”

Even after her new-found certainty — which happens to accord with her political interest as a Democrat — her story still contains gaps. She was drunk and didn’t directly see that it was Kavanaugh who put his penis in front of her face when she was on the floor. She says she heard someone yell out that it was Kavanaugh who had done this, and she saw him make a motion afterward that was consistent with pulling up his pants. So even she is making the charge as a matter of hearsay and interpretation.

The only other corroboration is an unidentified classmate who tells the magazine that he heard of the incident afterwards — in other words, more hearsay.

I advised my beloved that if the Republicans do not get Judge K confirmed to expect a whole lot of male judges who are married to advise the White House they want off ANY type of Confirmation list. It’s going to be about protecting the family members and that really matters to those who love their family members. Heck, they may not even get female judges to volunteer to be confirmed if they have any family to worry about.

If these bastards manage to get rid of Kavanaugh, they had better enjoy the blood-letting while it last because I would be willing to bet a dollar to a donut Trump’s replacement for him will be Amy Coney Barrett. Let them try and destroy a pro life, brilliant female judge. That ain’t happening.

Today on FBN, Napolitano (never Trumper) said this is all about abortion. Kavanaugh, a Catholic, is assumed to be anti-abortion (which he probably is). They hear “Catholic” and assume pro-life, which is an incorrect assumption. The Catholics I know well donate heavily to Emily’s List and volunteer time to Planned Parenthood. And that’s in the Bible Belt of east TN.

SCOTUS is jam packed with Catholics. How hard would it be to appoint an Evangelical for once? Even though Evangelicals are more pro-life than Catholics, people don’t know that quite often. One might get through the confirmation process more easily.

Kavanaugh has issued unequivocal denials.

Moore went on Sean Hannity and floundered.

Richard Painter is a crazied leftist who worked for Bush. Bush is a RINO. A lot of his administration were liberals. Painter is a certified lunatic, who finally quit pretending to be a republican and proudly switched back to his beloved democrat party.

Thank you for the image of Baal and the infant sacrifice. The truth could not have been made more plain.

"One poster said that the GOP is letting the dems run the committee.

Nope, they are letting vindictive lying women run things!"

Or they are just further tools used by the Rats in a campaign to defeat Kavanaugh and Trump by any means necessary. Grassley has described himself as playing second trombone with Schumer as the conductor.

As this plays out I think we need to consider how Christine Blasey Ford will find her way into the American vernacular. In the same way Bork became Borked (a verb), Lewinski a noun (You go a Lewinski).

I hope Ford is happy with how she will be immortalized. So what will it Be?

I would love for Republicans to make that case.
