So the white nationalists are coming back to Charlottesville, and once again we’re going to hear the standard media narrative that these bigots are “on the right.” Leave aside that Jason Kessler, the organizer of the original Charlottesville rally, was an Obama activist and an Occupy Wall Street guy. Never mind that Richard Spencer, the poster boy of white supremacy, reveals in a detailed interview in my new movie that he’s a progressive who supports nationalized health care and expanded centralized state, and whose favorite presidents are all Democrats.
We need to probe deeper to understand who these white nationalists are and what they are about. One of the few scholars to make a genuine attempt to study their movement is political scientist Carol Swain. Swain, who was featured in my film “Hillary’s America,” is one of the leading African-American scholars in the country. She has written two books, a detailed study of the white nationalist movement called “The New White Nationalism in America ” and the other consisting of searching interviews with its most prominent members.

I "get" from Pelham's posts that some people have a "thing" against D'Souza's, but I don't share it, am more inclined to forgive a good man a few mistakes.
I make more than a few myself.
I'd suggest separating the real patriot wheat from its Lesftist chaff and let the BLMs in white-face go their own way.
Everyone else needs to get over being "white" and focus more on being real Americans.

I agree with at least some of Alan Dershowitz's points - even though he's a hard leftist. Not because of who he is, or who he associates with, but because those select points are correct.
Same with D'Souza. It seems that it's of people (some FReepers included) have a tendency to believe that it's an "all or nothing" proposition. I find that short-sighted.
To the point of this article, it's pretty clear that "white nationalist" is a false leftist construct, same as "alt-right". The left defining us so that it is easier to isolate us and destroy us. Screw that!

Dershowitz is no “hard leftist,” he is a solid social libertarian, and a very moderate leftist.
Above all, he is a very honest, moral man, so we can comfortably live with his expressed opinions.

I think so. Back in the 1990s D’Souza figured that trashing various people on the right as racist would be a sure route to success. Not unlike David Frum, who was doing the same thing at the same time. Kind of a neocon journalistic specialty. Frum succeeded at it for awhile, until enough people saw him as a rat and wished that he could be returned to Canada.
D’Souza has also discovered that Americans know too little about their own history to spot the BS he is spinning in his convenient political morality tales, with the Democrats starring as Satan and the GOP as God’s Agency On Earth. History, including that of the major political parties, isn’t that simple. But you can be sure that people will gobble it up long enough for Dinesh to reap the benefits.

Years ago I had similar very long debates on that subject and I know how those people think.
They apply the court-room standard that if you can catch a witness at a single "lie" then you can discard all his testimony.
So they discard all the eyewitnesses, attribute all the documentation to Soviet propaganda, and claim that indisputable Nazi speeches don't really mean what they seem to say.
And, presto-change, no more Holocaust.

Going back to our nation's earliest years, all immigrant groups started off as members of big-city Democrat political machines -- i.e., NY's Tammany Hall.
Generations later some became more established, served our military and began to think of themselves as real Americans.
Then they could consider giving up their parents' Democrat party for the party of real Americans.
Asia-Indians as a group are up-there with Chinese as a class above average -- their children graduate at the tops of their high school classes.
So they do well, but with rare exceptions -- Christian D'nesh D'Souza, Sikh Indian Nicky Haley, Hindu now Christian Bobby Jindal come to mind -- they follow the voting patterns of other immigrants.
You obviously follow D'Souza a lot more closely than I do, everything I've seen from him is pretty mainstream conservative.
But like President Trump I'm also a big fan of Andrew Jackson -- tough as nails, patriotic to the core, brilliant military mind, no nonsense.
He's the only president in our history to pay off the national debt!
His reputation as a slave-holder is that he treated his people better, and protected them even when they were wrong.
It made them very loyal.
Iirc, Jackson had an Indian (American Indian) adopted son, but the "trail of tears" was his response to Indian massacres of settlers when Andrew was young.
If we love our country we grieve for those Indians who died, but thank God for Andrew Jackson's work to build & hold his country together.
