Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Wednesday lamented that the “American we know and love doesn’t exist anymore” because of demographic changes in the country that she blamed on illegal and legal immigration.
Ingraham was reacting to comments from Democratic House candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who described in a recent podcast interview the way the country has changed over the past few decades, including the decline of the upper-middle class.
“She’s kind of right in a general sense,” Ingraham said after mocking Ocasio-Cortez's comments.
“In some parts of the country it does seem like the America we know and love doesn’t exist anymore,” Ingraham continued. “Massive demographic changes have been foisted upon the American people. And they’re changes that none of us ever voted for and most of us don’t like.
Now much of this is related to both illegal and, in some cases, legal immigration that of course progressives love,” she added.
Ingraham went on to argue that Democrats oppose enforcing immigration laws, which is harming the country. She called for improved border security, the end of sanctuary city policies and the closure of immigration loopholes.
"Remember the old Democrats — maybe some of them Ocasio-Cortez is referring to — they used to think that borders mattered," she said. "But the new activists believe enforcing immigration laws is essentially an ongoing human rights violation."
Ingraham's comments quickly went viral on social media, with some reporters and pundits accusing her of using white nationalist rhetoric.
President Trump has made cracking down on immigration a cornerstone of his administration. He has repeatedly called on Congress to pass stricter laws and has called the existing U.S. immigration policies the "worst" in the world.
The administration sparked bipartisan backlash when it implemented a "zero tolerance" policy for individuals who cross the border illegally.

If it was only that simple. She does not even know where to start. Throwing God under the bus would be a much better start.
I would have posted the change in US demographics since 1900 instead of since 1970, but Google and Bing dominate the search engines and their liberal algorithms now bury such charts. 10 years ago it would come right up when you searched on USA DEMOGRAPHICS SINCE 1900. Now the commie Rats who control all the information flow on the internet have buried all the information conservatives used to be able to find at our fingertips. I am sure the charts still exist and if I used the right 100 word search string I MIGHT be able to get it to come up, but I gave up after 25 tries.
Google wins again. That is one monopoly that seriously needs to be broken.
Hispanic is not a race. Most Hispanics are white.
I have seen it all in that chart, 1970 the first black girl in our school - 6th grade.

As used in modern discussions about demographics, the term “white” is given to mean non-Hispanic whites. When Hispanics were a tiny demographic that wasn’t the case. Now that they are poised to eventually be the largest demographic group in America in a few decades, you don’t really have to say “non-Hispanic white” when discussing race. If you mention “white” and you mention “Hispanic”, then most people have the intelligence to understand that “white” means “non-Hispanic white”.
The “non-Hispanic” is silent.
Oh, and as regards casual conversation, which I realize is not TECHNICALLY precise, Hispanics are often called or considered to be “brown” so as to distinguish them against non-Hispanic whites. Even though there is no such thing as a “brown race”.
Like I said, it is “understood” rather than “explicit”. 99 percent of people will understand what you mean when you are talking about issues of race or demographics and casually allude to “whites” vs. “Hispanics”.
It is not that complicated.
