Resistance-Backed Cynthia Nixon: Taxing Rich for Single-Payer System ‘Not Pipe Dream’

New York gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon touted her plan to tax the “ultra-rich” to pay for a single-payer healthcare system after one of the most prominent anti-Trump Resistance groups endorsed her on Monday. The Indivisible movement endorsed Nixon, saying that New Yorkers could count on Nixon to “stand up from progressive values” when “basic human rights” are “under constant threat.”

“I am thrilled to receive the endorsement of Indivisible and work together to transform the Democratic Party into one that fights for progressive values and not just big corporate donors,” Nixon reportedly said. “We need bold progressive leadership in the Democratic Party to advance issues like single-payer health care, taking on ICE and enacting rent control.”

outed her plan to tax the “ultra-rich” to pay for a single-payer healthcare

Of course, the "ultra-rich" are those making over $30,000 per year. There is no way to have Socialism without a massive middle and lower class tax hike. Period. "The rich" can't pay for it all, even if you tax them at 100%.

What a moron if you took every dime from the “super rich “ you could fund single payer for about 3 months maybe.

They never say how the doctors will get paid, how this program will NOT grow and grow every year, and how to avoid fraud that happens with any government program.

Also the demand will take place and the system will be overloaded.

Little Cynthia Strap-On Grrl made a lotta cash pretending to be hetero on TV.

She can donate all she wants to the medical charity of her choice. Better yet, she could start her own non-profit medical insurance company like a lot of Christian churches already have done.

But since she’s a simpleton, all she can think of is “steal money from people and give it to my buddies”

Not even. The true ultra-rich have more than one dwelling and a team of lawyers. The lawyers will file change of residency within seconds of any threat of such taxation. They won't pay a cent.

The latest figures I saw were that if you confiscated every penny from “the 1%” you’d have enough cash to keep the Federal Government running for 89 days.

There it is...the main reason to keep PDJT and future conservative presidents elected...and retaining control of the House/Senate. There’s no more Democrat false front of “Why can’t we all get along.” The next time the Dems are in power, this country will be stripped bare as if by a plague of locusts.

Stand up from?

Even in ultra-liberal New York, I think she's polling in single digits.

Dems mid-term campaign has kicked off:

someone posted this on a previous thread -

31 Jul: The Hill: Sanders thanks Koch brothers for accidentally making argument for medicare for all

look at all the latest stuff on Axios:

31 Jul: Axios: Sam Baker: Exclusive poll: Democrats have an edge on health care
Democrats’ health care message is resonating with critically important blocs of midterm voters, according to the latest Axios/SurveyMonkey polling.
The big picture: Democrats are moving left on health care. Embracing the Affordable Care Act is now a given, and candidates are increasingly embracing a bigger role for the federal government. The voters they’ll need most this fall — including white suburban women and Millennials — are largely on board.

Axios: Alexi McCammond: The Democratic Socialists’ campaign playbook
America is not a socialist nation, and the Democratic Party is not a socialist party. But after Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s shocker win in New York, a growing number of Democrats are pushing a formula to try to nudge both the nation and the party in Bernie Sanders’ direction.
The bottom line: This isn’t going to end — Ocasio-Cortez was just in California spreading the Democratic socialist message.
The template:
1.Find candidates who fit the rising Democratic coalitions: young, female, minority — ideally all three.
2.Go big or go home with policy fights: Medicare for all, a much higher minimum wage, down-with-corporations regulations.
3.Bet that the Trump phenomenon is transferable: that political parties are open to swifter change than commonly believed as long as you are loud and authentic.
Bring in Bernie. He remains a rock star with the far left, and a sure bet to juice crowds and attention.
We saw this in vivid display this past weekend in Michigan, when we went to see Ocasio-Cortez campaigning with Abdul el-Sayed, a progressive Democrat running for governor.
It was clear that people are craving this brand of politics in 2018. The energy at the rallies was undeniable. But just because a movement can get a thousand people out to a local university doesn’t prove it can win elections in Michigan, or across the country...

Axios: The health care surge: Why it’s rising as a midterms issue
Drew Altman, Kaiser Family Foundation
In recent elections, Republicans have effectively used health care and anti-Affordable Care Act sentiment to rally their base. Now, the repeal effort has made the ACA more popular and given Democrats a weapon to use to motivate their base and reach out to independents.
Between the lines: The importance of health care as a national priority is sometimes overstated — but our recent polling shows it really could be a decisive issue in the midterms. That’s because it has been surging as an issue for Democrats, and in an election many see as a referendum on President Trump, it may now be as important a factor as Trump is...
The other side: The ultimate role health care plays will depend on how effectively the issue is prosecuted in the campaign by Democrats, and how Republicans respond. And a lot can still happen between now and November to change voter priorities. A big combat operation overseas, a report from the Mueller investigation or any big unexpected development could bump health care down the hierarchy of voter concerns...

I keep playing the scene from Zhivago where the collective has taken over the family house for apartments.

Surely armed conflict is not far away.

They’re not talking about taxing income. They want to tax total wealth starting with savings, IRA, 401ks, and stock portfolios.

When Cindy announced her candidacy, she introduced her ‘husband’ at rallies, but now she calls her ‘wife’.

Could this be because even the dykes recognize the wives in these ‘relationships’ are too fruity to be elected?
