I think the whole thing was a setup to try and trap someone in the Trump campaign. This was put on by Fusion GPS and the people who paid them.

Good info on Nellie Ohr and Baumgartner. Nellie applied for a ham radio license not long after being employed by Fusion GPS. No doubt she used it to communicate with Steele and others knowing that NSA does not usually monitor such communications. IMO Nellie Ohr was not only a conduit to furnish information to the FBI and DOJ, I believe she was supplying FBI information to Steele using whatever was in Trump's FBI file, which must have existed for at least five years when he began his birther attacks against Obama in 2011.
It was much more than that. Not only was the campaign being monitored, but also, the Trump transition team and his Presidency were being monitored to overturn an election. Rosenstein signed off on the last renewal of the FISA warrant. The Dems and the swamp wanted to destroy Trump.

Agree with you that the Russian narrative probably started with the opposition research file on Trump (page 96). Collusion was just an expansion of the meme that Trump had a bromance with Putin. The sinister collusion/conspiracy of with Russia was stoked with the addition of Carter Page to the Trump team in March 2016 followed by the “hacking” of the DNC server.
IF the GOPe wasn’t giving top cover to Mueller they would be demanding he equally investigate all the Clinton campaign ties to foreign nationals and Putinist Russia. Instead, they leave POTUS bare behind to the wind to hamstring him and obstruct the MAGA agenda. And for that history will damn them all.

While her consulting work at the DNC this past election cycle centered on mobilizing ethnic communities — including Ukrainian-Americans — she said that, when Trump’s unlikely presidential campaign began surging in late 2015, she began focusing more on the research, and expanded it to include Trump’s ties to Russia, as well. She occasionally shared her findings with officials from the DNC and Clinton’s campaign, Chalupa said. In January 2016 — months before Manafort had taken any role in Trump’s campaign — Chalupa told a senior DNC official that, when it came to Trump’s campaign, “I felt there was a Russia connection,” Chalupa recalled. “And that, if there was, that we can expect Paul Manafort to be involved in this election,” said Chalupa, who at the time also was warning leaders in the Ukrainian-American community that Manafort was “Putin’s political brain for manipulating U.S. foreign policy and elections.” She said she shared her concern with Ukraine’s ambassador to the U.S., Valeriy Chaly, and one of his top aides, Oksana Shulyar, during a March 2016 meeting at the Ukrainian Embassy. We all care here fellow freeper, but are tired of having the media manipulate the people after every positive development by conservatives. The Deep Staters are trying to evoke a sense of despair among Conservatives and the only way to fight it is to respond each time to counter it, but to understand what they are doing. I have seen many express despair because they believe what the media is telling them. Therefore, I prefer to see it for what it is - an attack. You said “I care because our electoral process is being undermined by Deep State, MSM, and the Dems.” You should care, but they can only undermine it if we allow them to. Yes, we have to fight them, and yes I agree that Obama and Clinton are probable responsible. But acknowledging the lies is not ignoring them. I am suggesting that people learn to recognize the lies for what they are and do not allow themselves to be persuaded that they are true. If you assume that is ignoring them, then you are wrong.
They already have with the Trump administration trying to function while bogged down with investigations, leaks, threats of impeachment, etc. Lives have been ruined and many Trump campaign personnel are incurring huge legal bills. The MSM has been aiding and abetting the Dem lies. The Resistance is hurting the Trump Presidency.
We must care and fight back.
I am suggesting that people learn to recognize the lies for what they are and do not allow themselves to be persuaded that they are true. If you assume that is ignoring them, then you are wrong.
You are preaching to the choir. Us Freepers understand that these are out and out lies. I haven't seen anyone on this site claiming that they are true. The people we have to worry about are the RINOs in Congress who have not supported the President. With few exceptions there has been little outrage or anger about what amounts to the greatest hoax in US history. Most of them support Mueller and his one-sided investigation. There has not been sufficient pushback on the lack of cooperation from the FBI and DOJ.
The Reps are helping the Dems thwart Trump's agenda. They would prefer a Trump resignation. They are two-faced bastards.
