The FISC law specifies the requirements that must be adhered to with regard to the contents of a FISA warrant application. That application violates some of those requirements, so it violates the law.

Just as they were warned against ages ago, the American people have traded liberty for “safety” and have neither. The FISA process needs to be severely reformed, and all involved fired (Rosenstein).

Sorry Brit. They relied on the fake dossier as prime evidence for the request. People holding official government positions signed an affidavit declaring that they had reviewed and verified the dossier information included in the FISA application. The use of the dossier itself was improper because the FBI didn't verify it, but claimed they did. Therefore, the FISA warrant request was illegal. Not to mention the fact that they never divulged to the Judges the fact that a foreign agent had created the dossier, paid for by Hillary's campaign.
