JACKSONVILLE, Florida – With just over a month to go until Florida Republicans vote to select their nominee for the governor’s race, Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) is pulling ahead of Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam, according to recent polling data. Past polling showed DeSantis trailing Putnam by a wide margin. One poll from June 21, conducted by Fox News, had DeSantis down by 15 points.

This month’s polling, however, shows the trend is decidedly in DeSantis’ favor. A survey from Remington Research conducted July 2-5 has DeSantis up 17 points. Another survey conducted by pollster Tony Fabrizio has DeSantis up 12 points.

Adam Putnam seems to be a crony capitalist wearing a Pat Buchanan mask...

Hope DeSantis gets it! Putnam I do not like at all, but he could be a spoiler.

“””YouGov asked U.S. adults: “Do you believe Donald Trump is being framed by the FBI and the Department of Justice?”
Sixty-one percent of Republicans responded with “Yes, he is being framed.” Just 17 percent said he was not being framed while 21 percent were not sure.”””

This poll was conducted a couple of months ago. It seems that any Republican candidate who is challenging the veracity of the FBI/DOJ will do very well in the November election.

Ron DeSantis has been among the first to challenge the FBI/DOJ.

On the other hand the Republican politicians who are Never Trumpers will not do well in November or have already opted to not run such as Paul Ryan and Jeff Flake and others.

Adam Putnam was a Never Trump before November 2016.

Florida voters know Ron DeSantis is with them in wanting to Drain the DC Swamp and now they want DeSantis to come to Tallahassee and Drain the Florida Swamp.

I, for one, have a hard time deciding whether I would prefer keeping DeSantis in Congress, or having him be governor of Florida. If being Governor is what he wants, I hope he achieves it. I think Congress will miss his intellect on balance. I have a very high opinion of mr. DeSantis, I think he’s a very high quality individual and great representative. Easily one of the top 10 Congress people, in my opinion.

I agree - but I’d suspect that another good GOPer would replace him. I hope Scott gets into the Senate. He’s not a super likable person, and in a strange way, he’s not very political...that is, he doesn’t seem to curry favor with anybody. But he’s practical and gets the job done.

As for DeSantis being governor, remember that most of our best presidents have been elected from the gubernatorial pool!

Going to the Gov’s house will give him the executive experience he needs as a possible future presidential candidate. We’ll need great candidates for 2024.

If DeSantis wins the Governorship + Scott wins The Senate then my concern over the hundreds of thousands of Puerto Ricans coming over to Florida due to to Hurrican will be somewhat over

Something definitely smells in the 23rd district of Florida.

It looks like Lil Debbie rigged the primary and when her opponent sued, she had all the paper ballots destroyed.

So far no one at the state or county level is doing a thing about it.

Someone needs to ask Rick Scott what gives.

I actually see him to as the successor to Trump in 2024. I like Pence , He is a nice guy but he is just not tough minded enough. Trump is just kicking left’s butt every day and in every way and we must keep that going until they are extinct.

Pence is a tough SOB but he’s too quiet. Dubya was the same when he had multiple damn chances to get back at his enemies in the media, but stayed quiet. I prefer fighters to talk smack and put their money where their mouth is.

That can happen in 2022... DeSantis will be in charge of the party as state governor.

“....while 21 percent were not sure.”

This IS our problem! Wishy washy, brain-dead people who couldn’t find their own a$$es with both hands and a flashlight! They don’t seem to have any clue that they need to take part in our Republic.

The mask doesn’t fit very well and keeps slipping. There is some good anti Puptnam advertising going on here. I really don’t think Putnam can beat the Democrat and I am not sure it would matter much if he did other than the maintenance of the statistics.

Pence should never be allowed to become President. He couldn’t even learn to work like Trump. It isn’t in his genetic makeup. DeSantis, Jim Jordan, Matt Gaetz and a few others come to mind. But no more f*cking Senators!
