LONGUEUIL, Que. Quebec actor Edgar Fruitier faces two charges of indecent assault against a minor in connection with alleged events dating back to the 1970s.
The 88-year-old actors arrest was first reported by the Montreal-area newspaper Le Courrier du Sud.
Police in Longueuil, on Montreals South Shore, confirm they arrested a person matching Fruitiers age in connection with two counts of indecent assault against a victim who was 15 years old when the alleged assaults began.
An arrest warrant issued July 12 says Fruitier was wanted for allegedly committing indecent assault against a male victim between June 1 and August 31, 1974, in the Eastern Townships and between March 20 and September 20, 1976, in Longueuil.

It’s getting to the point where I assume every male celeb is a pedo until proven otherwise.
No kidding...are people surprised?
Is he Fruitier than Trudeau?
Never heard of him.
And when you really really start paying attention, you’ll drop the male qualifier.
This is one accusation FROM 40 YEARS AGO. Even if he is a fruit, how long are we going to let accusers do this crap?
LMAO.
“Is he Fruitier than Trudeau?”
A match made in heaven, perhaps?
Hmmmm?
I get the severity of the crimes, but let’s admit this is just an accusation, and at this point I wonder what exactly does the man making the charge want. What at this point in his life will it change.
If I were the authorities, I’d want to see some evidence that this was not a lone incident. If only to judge just how much of a “perv” is the actor with this now 40+ year old claim against him.
It’s sort of serendipity that the 40+ year old claim is against a man who was 40+ years old at the time. I doubt the claimant planned the claim with that in mind.
Fruitier than most...
HAHA! But seriously, is there no statute of limitations? I never heard of this man before, and I’m not defending him in any way, but most crimes are not prosecutable (sp?) after some period of time, like 40+years.
Statute of limitations by states. Could find none for Canada.
After reading the list there are a few states with no statute of limitations for any crime, South Carolina is one.
Agreed...except for Mike Rowe, James Woods, and a handful of others.
Perhaps Canada has no statute of limitations.
The next thing will be to charge any progeny for the infractions of their grandfathers...
