Cabot Phillips of Campus Reform interviewed students at New York University to test the truth of a Gallup Poll showing a sharp decline in young Americans who are proud of their country. Sadly, the responses he received aren’t surprising.
Student after student made it clear: they were not.
“No! I’m not proud of America. I’m not proud of what we’ve done,” said one student, while another simply declared, “definitely not.”
One student, addressing the concept of American Exceptionalism, said “I think we need to stop thinking we’re the best nation on Earth. It’s just egotistical and not accurate.” When asked which country is better than America, she responded, “probably some nice little socialist country in Europe.”
One student went so far as to say that “patriotic views about America” are nothing more than “a tool to be used to get people to join the Army.”
Hardened by their own discontent, these perpetual complainers have no love for those who fought and died so every man and woman can be in control of their own lives, take responsibility for their own successes and failures, and revel in the strange mix of anxiety and joy that comes from living a life of freedom.

So, when they graduate with 100K in debt, and need to figure out how to balance loan payments, a ridiculous rent in that "cute, well-located" loft in gentrified NYC, and eating artisanal farm-to-table food with a craft beer every night ... on a minimum wage salary bussing tables, or maybe an entry-level salary.... well, I wish them luck.
Reality will be a harsh mistress. Of course, though, it's because America sucks. Even though they had an easy ride for the first 20-odd years of their lives and are now reaping the result of their poor choices.

Something to be said for mandatory stint in the military for a few years before transitioning from high school to kommie college.
There are many ways to leave America. You should leave now and find a place that makes you happy and proud and free. You will not be missed.

Get off campus to ask the questions. Who gives a damn what these pampered elites think? We all know July 4th is the first holiday these duds would eliminate given the chance. They hatred of America is legendary.

I wasn’t so different from them - OK at least a little less obnoxious - at their age. Then I went and lived in 4 European countries.....and my transformation to American patriot was complete.
Of course I was never dumb enough to think socialism was anything but a disaster. That was immediately confirmed as soon as I saw Eastern Europe.
My guess is that 85% of these “snowflakes” have never been outside the country unless it was Nassau or someplace smilar....
Yes, they can have their opinion but the sad part is their lack of anything substantial to back up their claims nor any constructive action to work for anything better. I could write volumes about American exceptionalism. The a-hole Kenyan did a great job convincing kids that America sucks as he imported the sewage of the world to fill the "melting pot".

I think that parents should send their kids to vocational schools instead. At least why learn stuff that can help get jobs, and they won’t be propagandized by a bunch of pothead Communist faculty.
