This study, like most, is useless.
This study may be useless for the reasons you state.
But there are animal studies that back it up.
(those found the benefit in reducing cancer only applied to brewed coffee, not instant, caffeine only, or hot water.)

In a study of nearly half-a-million British adults, coffee drinkers had a slightly lower risk of death over 10 years than abstainers. If I can avoid death that takes over 10 years, I'll drink just about anything. That sounds miserable.

Here’s another one: People whose health is already compromised in some way are often counseled by their doctors not to drink coffee.
So, sick people may drink less coffee.
This goes for alcohol consumption as well.
Although, as a lover of both coffee and wine, I tell my doctors that “research shows...” They then give me leave to drink as much as I generally care to drink. Most doctors confuse correlation with causation as much as the general population.

I don’t socialize. I avoid people. I do drink 8-10 cups of coffee a day and eat a 4 egg omelet for breakfast though. All my blood tests are great.

Until counter research will claim 2-3 cups of coffee per day will increase risk of cardiac arrest by 78%....

Actually coffee studies have been pretty consistent for many years. There are numerous benefits, and only a few negatives. There has been a common prejudice that coffee must be bad for you somehow, but the science has never been behind that.
Regarding eggs, there's some point there. But that wasn't just an issue with eggs but with the accepted wisdom that eating cholesterol is bad for you. Problem is that was never based on good science, and when the science was done it didn't hold up. But it was apparent all along that it wasn't good science to anyone that looked.

"Overall, coffee drinkers were about 10 percent to 15 percent less likely to die than abstainers during a decade of follow-up."
That is because coffee drinkers, disturbed before their 4th cup, KILL abstainers who disturb them!

When I was 6 I would see my uncle, who was about 20 at the time, drinking coffee while studying for his college classes. My grandmother had this cup with a tiger on it that I liked, so he would pour me a cup of café-au-lait with a heaping tablespoon of sugar in it to keep me occupied.
Of course when I went home to mom I was bouncing off the walls. Took her awhile to discover that her brother was the culprit.
Have been drinking it daily since I was about 13 anyway.

And after I brew it I feed the coffee grounds and eggshells to my plants. Amazing results over time.

Egg beaters weren't just a product. It was a product that needed a market.

Antioxidants. Polyphenols.
Mixed bag, like red wine. Some good, some bad.
