Union Sounds Alarm on President’s Plan to Reorganize Federal Government

AFGE’s statement for the record calls reorganization ‘a thinly veiled attempt to devolve federal involvement’

WASHINGTON Today, the American Federation of Government Employees submitted a statement for the record before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee’s hearing, “Examining the Administration’s Reorganization Plan.”

The hearing follows the Trump administration’s June 21 announcement of a “Reform Plan and Reorganization Recommendations,” that was immediately rejected by the nation’s largest federal union as a “scheme to gut federal services.”

In the statement for the record from AFGE National President J. David Cox Sr. (available at www.afge.org/ReorgHearing), Cox said, “AFGE objects to many recommendations of this plan, as implementation will result in inefficient allocation of agency resources and workload and politicization of the civil service.”

They are pretending to do something in order that they can pretend to be relevant.

I’ve been paying compulsory union dues to support Democrats for ten years. Now I have a choice and a voice.

There are Over 80 federal welfare programs, spread over dozens of agencies and departments. Just consolidating them would save huge amounts of money by being able to eliminate duplicated staff functions. (Which is why the government employee unions are freaking out at the prospect)

They already know that they cannot just dip into personal bank accounts to grab their money.

I know of 2 fed union employees who plan to switch banks and withdraw all the money so they wont have the unions getting their monthly dues.

Consolidation might prevent citizens from over collecting welfare benefits.

...Cox said, “AFGE objects to many recommendations of this plan, as implementation will result in inefficient allocation of agency resources and workload and politicization of the civil service.”

The AFGE objections are nonsense! It appears that they are worried that government downsizing will affect them.

The executive branch carries out the work directed by the legislative branch, only that and nothing more. If the AFGE objects, then they should recommend and elect congresspersons who support their positions.

The government is not funded to please the AFGE.

Consolidation might prevent citizens from over collecting welfare benefits.

Another reason why the Democrats will fight this with everything they have. You can bet that Trump will demand that the consolidated agency put in place systems to verify that each recipient is (A) a citizen, and (B) eligible, and (C) not collecting benefits under multiple identities.

If I were doing it, I would have each recipient have to prove identity in order to get benefits, and then give the verified recipient a biometric picture ID card. That way, it would be harder to claim that demanding ID "disenfranchises the poor".

Even their hero FDR was against public sector unions and knew it would lead to nothing but corruption.

Pivoting from your post I feel that this is the next step in the plan

I am pretty sure that the existence of the Government “unions” is via an Executive order, not by law

I could be proven wrong but if so the Trump by the “stroke of the pen” could issue an EO removing that hindrance and major obstacle from his path. All of the Union rules that are in place now create many hurdles from removing them and their incompetence from needed reforms and reformation of agencies and departments. I will predict that if indeed and EO will remove all of that he will do so, and there will be no recourse for them to sue as it is not a law, merely a practice hiding under a previous administrations largess and even conspiracy to embed them like ticks

If he can do it I say Godspeed and lets remove this insidious practice once and for all. It even bleeds down into the Edutocracy who has State consitution’s giving them a virtual headlock on delivery. And a point I wish to make about that, if they are “charged: with proving that education then are they not failing in that responsibility by “graduating” students who are in truth functionally in large part incapable of gainful employment without attending the next step in their scheme

“Colleges and Universities” themselves infested with Liberal and progressive instructors who have never worked a day in their lives in that which they teach?

This to me smacks of a larger conspiracy, and I call for it to be exposed and brought to heel!

President Trump plans to reorganize the Federal Government with immigrant Somalis from Africa.

The Democrat Union has supported this migration for many years. As their reward, all Federal Unionistas shall be moved to welfare micro apartments, in the smelly ghetto.

Replacement transfer is effective Monday. Please leave your teddy bears at home that day.
