Just what we need: Another William O. Douglas. We are still living with his judicial missteps and nonsense.

Trump needs to sit down with Roberts and show him that he has the proof Obama compromised him. Give him the choice to “retire with dignity” or be exposed with a request that the Senate impeach him.

“Except for Obama Care I still consider him a Conservative.”

I agree, he’s at least 90% with us (as opposed to the 65% Kennedy, and the 40% Sandra Dee before him).

But that’s not the purpose of the article. The purpose is to SWAY HIM to the middle, so that he can feel important, feel like a rock star, be LOVED by the media, be invited to all of the Lefty parties.

I doubt that will work, but it’s about the only hope they have if Trump puts another Gorsuch on the Court.

Not after Ginsburg kicks off. The court will go 7-2.

The most plausible explanation for Roberts 11 th hour defection on Obama Care was that he was extorted via threats to have his adopted children deported by the Obama Administration

Irinically, there are some child deportations Obama is in favor of

This is not going to happen with Donald Trump in office and if somebody extorted me the way Roberts probably was, the pay back would be painful and I not even close to being Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court

I’m not worried about Roberts

I’m with you on all of that. Much as I appreciate Thomas, it would be best if he were to step down in favor of somebody who is hopefully equally strict constructionist and about 25 years younger.

I’m hopeful that by the end of his 2nd term, President Trump will have been able to replace Bader-Ginsburg, Sotomayor and Breyer. We need to take out as many of the Gang of Four as we possibly can. 5-4 is too close for comfort.

Wishful thinking. Robert has been conservative on almost every issue except Obamacare.

I do not. He conserves unConstitutional governmental tyranny.

If by Swing Vote, one means treacherous and sophistic, then yes.

What, no one not in office can engage in blackmail?

I still do not understand why he voted the way he did on the ACA. Looks to me like he has liberal leanings.

That was my response.
He thought he was off the hook, and now they are digging up the papers on his kids again.

To “interpret the law as written” would be considered an attribute of a right wing court!

What is the issue with respect to Chief Justice Roberts’ adoption of his children? As I understand it, they were adopted from Ireland. His wife is of Irish ancestry, though he only has fractional Irish ancestry, and is mostly of Slovak, English, and German heritage.

The story is that Roberts broke the law to adopt some Irish children, could lose them - they could be deported - if the DoJ chooses to pursue it.

Yes, I would certainly hope so.
