Whatever his motives, in the end Obama Care became a tax and not a Constitutional “Right”, and as you say subject to Congress. I don't see anywhere else where Roberts has disappointed Conservatives. So far he is 2A all the way and even was against gay “marriage”. It will be interesting to watch SCOTUS in the future as a conservative branch of the Gov. None of us have ever witnessed it before. Best election ever!

The appointment to the high court is for life and any attempts to make an obscure adoption process an impeachable offense at this point, is unlikely to gain any traction.

Unlikely to gain traction? Are you serious?

The left owns the media and will gleefully report on any indiscretion 24/7/365 until it achieves its goals. (See non-stop Trump-bashing since November 8, 2016)

Exactly. A report retracted won’t get it, but, when the IG report on FISA abuse comes out, it will be there. Not specifically spelled out but like so many other gems in the first report, it will be there and we will see one more appointment for Trump to make. I would expect Pryor to be picked for Chief when it does.

You need to find something else to worry about.

Waiting for the time when Justice Thomas becomes the swing vote.

Roberts stupidly will deny how he might otherwise vote as an individual judge, so he can instead bring “balance” to the court. He, selfishly for his own image of guiding the court, seeks greater “consensus”, however narrow (5-4), and less big swings one way or another (7-2). It is a self-assigned mission and it deprives the court of what might otherwise be the big internal legal battles it needs EVERY time. Roberts reacts this way particularly if he sees the issue as big & controversial.

Do you not know why we think he is being blackmailed?

Because he does not make decisions the way you want him to?

I have no idea if he is or if is not being blackmailed but have read many Freepers make such a claim. My opinion (and that is all it is) if he has been blackmailed now is the time to get out from under it.

Other than that, I really don’t care.

Nonsense, Roberts is going to side with the 4 libtards against the 4 conservatives?

I don’t see this happening.

Nuts!

That may be part of it....

Seriously, who does free work for sodomites, especially sodomites bent on destruction of hetero-normal institutions without at least a casual interest in the subject?

After the Obamacare decision, Robert’s name is mud. He will either rebuild his lost credibility, or run toward adoration.

I can see this puts going either way.

Here’s a hint:

Justice is blind, and not agenda driven.

Also, most pro-bono work is assigned as the next case in line, and is not selected by the attorney.

Concur. I think the logic and wording of the Obama care decision was Robert’s big “FU” to his bkackmailer; and they were simultaneously too shirt-sighted (”I won!”), too stupid, and too confident in Hillary’s ‘inevitable’ ascension, to get it.

Kennedy’s replacement hasn’t even been picked and idiots are saying “as the court moves right.” We’ll see if it moves right in a few years.

With This Current Pick, Trump should pick a solid constitutional conservative God fearing person and appoint them to Chief, demote Roberts.

.……..except that all 4 liberals have problems. One’s so old she can’t stay awake, one has advanced issues with diabetes, Breyer’s older than Methuselah and so on...……..

So, this so called “left” and this so called “swing vote” could become a mirage and disappear into the mist of the DC swamp any day...…………..even before July 9.
