The drug, which is legal for medical use in the majority of US states, is mainly prescribed to ease pain. But this new research conducted in Colorado - which was the first state to legalize - suggests that short-term pain relief could weaken the body's resilience to pain over time. The researchers, from the Swedish Medical Center, Colorado, analyzed around 260 people who were involved in minor vehicle accidents and admitted to trauma centers. Of these, 54 tested positive for recent marijuana use while 16 claimed they used the drug more or less every day.

Reads like prohibitionist BS to me. I know the dozens of people I’ve met as a legal patient here in Florida sure appreciate being off the opioids.

I don’t believe it. Small study, minor differences.
Seems like a silly study, though it may help in general when substance users (incl alcohol) get injured.
It has no bearing on the benefits of cannabis used against pain.

There is a former LE in this area who is fighting for legalization of the oil. His child has seizures and it has helped a great deal.

It means that while he was taking opioid pain killers after surgery, smoking weed relieved the nausea caused by the opioids.
What he said makes perfect sense to me, I expect you just wanted to get in a dig at him for whatever reason.

So, give them a joint with the opioids.
Then after 5 days, eliminate the opioids. Register them in a database that precludes them getting opioids for a full year thereafter.
They, and society, would be FAR better off for it.
