A political action committee backing former state Sen. Michael Johnston of Denver for the Democratic nod for governor has received another $1 million dollars from Michael Bloomberg, bringing the wealthy former New York mayors total donations to the committee to $2 million.
...
The $1 million contribution was the largest that any campaign committee received in the most recent reporting period from May 31 to June 13, according to the secretary of states offices TRACER campaign finance system. Second on the list: another $750,000 from fellow Democrat U.S. Rep. Jared Polis of Boulder to his gubernatorial campaign, bringing his total contributions to $11.3 million.
Frontier Fairness has now raised more than $5.7 million in its efforts to help Johnston win the Democratic nomination for the primary, which ends in one week.
Other big donors to Frontier Fairness from the most recent report include Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings, who also sits on the board of Facebook
...
The PAC also got $30,000 from Leadership for Education Equity, aka Teach for America. Bloombergs daughter Emma is a member of the board, as is Arthur Rock, the founder of the tech giant Intel
....
Another big donor in this weeks report is an irrevocable trust tied to Michael Shannon of Denvers KSL. The company teamed up with Aspen Skiing Co. last year in a $1.5 billion deal to buy Intrawest, which operates nine ski resorts worldwide, including Winter Park and Steamboat. KSL is also a co-owner along with the Aspen Ski Company of Snowmass.

Bloomberg told Rolling Stone that he was sorry about the recalls of two state senators over the Democratic state legislatures gun-control laws, but added that their districts were so rural that, I dont think theres roads.
In Colorado, we got a law passed. The NRA went after two or three state senators in a part of Colorado where I dont think theres roads, said Bloomberg ..
Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
You don’t mean Michael Bloomberg, that solid Republican Mayor of NYC, that Michael Bloomberg?
Or are you referring to that Capo Piece of $hit Michael Bloomberg who is pi$$ing away some of his billions trying to undermine the Bill of Rights, that Michael Bloomberg, the guy with the elevator shoes?
Interesting quote from Bloomberg In Colorado, we got a law passed. - From his large NYC , dirty money = : WE ?
I was hoping Johnson and Polis would beat each other up in the primary more than they have.
Yes.
Any more thoughts on our R. state Treasurer ?
Johnston looks like Hogg.
I went with Everett, but I’ll be darned if I remember who convince me.
I guess all the Democrats signed a “clean campaign” pledge. It is keeping Cary Kennedy from going after Polis like she wants to.
Bloomberg is wasting his money (which is fine with me). Johnston doesn’t have a chance. He is trailing both Polis and Kennedy in polls. We don’t watch network TV news but during the Rockies games, I have seen some of his horrible ads. He is an unabashed gun grabber. Says so in plain English.
Polis would be a disaster for CO.
Polis would be a disaster for CO.
all the dims would be a disaster. polis wants to turn Co into CA, johnston is scared of guns and wants to continue government indoctrination centers and kennedy is a paid shill of the teachers unions (which are anti education).
Right
Johnston is the only Dem who is not owned lock, stock and barrel by the teachers unions. Teach for America is a good group and has sent graduates to lots of reform minded schools. So, if a Dem has to end up in the Govornors's office, he is probably the best of the lot.
On the other hand, all the Dems are anti-Second Amendment, so I don't think there is a lick of difference among any of them on that issue.
I agree with the poster that Polis would be a disaster for Colorado. Say goodbye to our recent growth and jobs.
