While Republican candidates across the country are proclaiming their fealty to President Donald Trump, New Jersey's Bob Hugin is going against the grain. Hugin, who is taking on Democratic U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez, is proclaiming himself "a different kind of Republican," in a new television ad, where he identifies himself as supporting abortion rights, same-sex marriage and equal pay for equal work. He also backs federal funding for the Gateway Tunnel project and calls for changes to the Republican tax law that singled out New Jersey by capping the federal deduction for state and local taxes, taking positions at odds with Trump.

He’ll get crushed like a bug.
Assuring Menendez wins. Mission accomplished.
Isnt someone with his beliefs, more commonly called a democrat?
Hell get crushed like a bug.

Yep. We need more Republican Senators but not more like him joining the RINO ranks.
What a liar. He's one of the same old Leftist Light Republicans that we've had for way too long, enabling the Socialist Democrats to turn our Free Constitutional Republic into a third-world dictatorship before making America disappear completely.
True. Hugin is just like Doug Forrester, from 12 years ago. Country-club pro-abortion Republican.

So he’d rather distance himself from Trump in a race against one of the most corrupt persons in political office currently in the United States. Only in New Jersey would this ever compute.
So basically, dude is a dem running under the repub tag.
As far as GOPe go, at least he’s honest in his obedience to the destructionist ideology.
He’d probably get crushed like a bug anyway. Jerseyites just love crooked Menendez. This state is putz-forward.
Sounds like a Pro Sodom candidate to me. That should take him far normally, but we live in a strange time where what was right is now wrong and what was wrong is now right. Best to leave Sodom behind and find morality.
Funny. A democrat who calls himself a republican. Like thats unique.
In other words, a democrat on the republican ticket.
This is exactly the kind of candidate the GOP has been running in these U.S. Senate races in New Jersey for years — which explains why NJ hasn’t had a Republican Senator for as long as I can remember.
Another New Jersey masterpiece.
New Jersey is a dysfunctional State. The state’s wealth is generated in New York City and Philadelphia. People who live in New Jersey and work in NYC and Philly are happy to pay the crazy NJ taxes because they are reasonable when compared with the two big cities. Most of the people who both live and work in NJ are working either in government or the services sector and they have an incentive to get as much as they can from the money flowing from the two cities. The result is a combination of incredible urban decay, beautiful suburban and rural estates, and several layers to corrupt state, county, township, and town local government. They have no interest in joining MAGA.
Anything that comes out of NJ.com needs to taken with a grain of salt. I believe that that criminal “scum & vermin”, Democrat, Bob Menandez can be beaten and even though I am a 100% Trump supporter and voter, if this guy starts getting real traction we, as Trumpers should get behind him. Please read the entire article and let us see what develops as we weave through this campaign.
This is New Jersey politics we are talking about here.
The crushing of bugs is Sunday afternoon sport.
New Jersey Democrats are not immune to this sort of political infighting. Robert Torricelli, anybody?
Notice the POS doesn’t run on a CORRUPTION/ESTABLISMENT/ANTI POLITICIAN platform
Yes, he’s so out of touch, he’ll get CREAMED
