I take a step back and look at this differently than every other issue the Deputy AG is dealing with these days.
This isn't just the President of the United States telling the U.S. Justice Department to investigate a matter. It's a person who is making an allegation -- with the backing of a lot of evidence being presented in the media in recent days -- about something that happened when he was still Donald J. Trump (civilian).
Looks like the Deep State is in panic mode.
Narrowly? Is “obstruction of justice” narrowly construed? Is “collusion”? Is “Russia”? No, let “political purposes” be anything that might hinder the Trump campaign and benefit Hillary’s.
Produce immediately.

The only thing Sessions has investigated in 15 months is just how far he can bend over for Rosenweasel, Comey and Mueller.
I would wager that the DOJ IG has already done that and will have a nice little report to release fairly soon that will cause a bunch of deep state operatives looking to move to countries without extradition to the US.

Which means that whatever criminal matters are uncovered will be referred to the Hon. AG Jeff Sessions and John Huber.

Have the Secret Service, or better yet US Marshalls, escort them to their offices to collect the documents and then escort them to the House and personally observe the hand off.
It could be done by 10.
Once again if either one of them so much as twitches an objection, stops to take a leak, or get coffee, fire them on the spot.
Secure their offices and electronic devices, and order the IT staff to download everything and print it out for the President to personally review.
