Art exhibit has been dubbed the Chicago Gun Share Program.
Each bike slot is filled with an AR-15 to show just how easy it is to get a gun in US.
Exhibit was created by the Brady Campaign and Center to Prevent Gun Violence.
'We're hoping the Chicago community can take advantage of this...and learn how simple it is for a civilian to obtain a weapon of war.'
Also included in the exhibit is a screen that allows people to donate to the Brady Center.
At least 862 people have been shot in Chicago in 2018 and 173 people have been killed.

Mocking gun rights? Or demystifying weapons? Or making money off the debate?
Wrong weapons.
Should be full of corrupt Democrat pols who created this shooting gallery.
Well if they are easy to obtain, the ARs in the artwork could not be accessed.
Kind of disproves the argument the artist tries to make, IMO.
I wish that clown Jim Brady had ducked.
A weapon of war is the human with evil intent. The gun is a tool that we have a Constitutional right to have. If one abuses that right I have nothing to do with that. If anyone challenges my right, they will have a problem.
Of the 600+ murders a year in Chicago, how many are done with an AR-15?
I’d wager less than 2%.
And the handguns that they are overwhelmingly done with....are they not already illegal in Chicago?
How many gun injuries in Chicago are inflicted by NRA members?
I'd be willing to bet that none of them were shot with AR-15s. In any case...
AR-15s are not used by the military but let's be very clear about one thing ... the 2nd Amendment was specifically created to protect civilian ownership of military grade weapons. "Weapons of war."
Amendment IIA well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Here are quotes from two Democrats, before the Dem Party became the Hate America Party, that speak specifically to the premise of civilians using arms for war...
"By calling attention to 'a well regulated militia,' the 'security' of the nation, and the right of each citizen 'to keep and bear arms,' our founding fathers recognized the essentially civilian nature of our economy. Although it is extremely unlikely that the fears of governmental tyranny which gave rise to the Second Amendment will ever be a major danger to our nation, the Amendment still remains an important declaration of our basic civilian-military relationships, in which every citizen must be ready to participate in the defense of his country. For that reason I believe the Second Amendment will always be important."President John F. Kennedy
---------------------------------------------------
"Certainly one of the chief guarantees of freedom under any government, no matter how popular and respected, is the right of citizens to keep and bear arms. This is not to say that firearms should not be very carefully used and that definite safety rules of precaution should not be taught and enforced. But the right of citizens to bear arms is just one more guarantee against arbitrary government, one more safeguard against a tyranny which now appears remote in America, but which historically has proved to be always possible."
Vice President and Senator Hubert H. Humphrey
The primary reason for the 2nd Amendment was to protect the citizen's right to own and use weapons of war to fight, as civilians, any threat to our sovereignty foreign or domestic.
An AR-15 is not a “weapon of war”. They’re used by the police.
Where can I sign up for one of these "community weapons"?
Do they have a wider selection than just AR-14s?
I sense a franchise opportunity here.
Him and George Bush...Reagan wasn’t wrong often, EXCEPT bringing them onboard!
“......learn how simple it is for a civilian to obtain a weapon of war.’”.....
The ones that seek such weapons are more than likely illegals, street rats or they already have them. Honest people don’t have it very easy to get them as do thieves and those who are corrupt. I suggest it’s much easier to drive down a back street in South Chicago, put out the word and within a few minutes, you would have one in your hands. No need for all that paperwork and ask, “who’s fault is that?”
I’m guessing you can’t pull the replica AR-15s out of the exhibit or they would have all been stolen in 5 minutes so this just shows even replica AR-15s are hard to get.
symbolism over substance is a typical leftist tactic
We have laws against murder, rape, theft and all kinds of other anti social behavior. We still have all that stuff going on, so where is that magic law that will cause the bad guy to stop and say to their self “ oh wait this is against the law.....I’d better not do this “ not going to happen. I’m afraid this is all a problem of the human heart. We have devalued human life and lost the concept of personal accountability. Nothing will change until we restore that
Gee....this changes everything I ever thought about gun control.....sarc/on
pathetic!!!
A little catch here — God won’t hold him guiltless who does not speak against wrongs. It’s all not about you. Yes, Daddy can take your T-bird away if you are not objecting to others abusing theirs. The old silence implies consent thing.
But who wants to make the initial heartbreaking investment of spirit here?
Good one. I'm going to steal it to confound a Bolshevik neighbor.
