...James name has continued to gain national attention after receiving a long list of endorsements for his efforts to defeat Michigan Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow, including National Security Adviser John Bolton, who endorsed James days before President Donald Trump appointed him to serve. (RELATED: EXCLUSIVE: John Bolton Endorses Michigan Army Veteran For US Senate)
The Bolton endorsement came the same day the American Conservative Union, hosts of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) endorsed James. The GOP candidate was also endorsed by the Senate Conservatives Fund in late January.
The former Navy SEAL involved in the raid that killed Osama Bin Laden, Robert ONeill, campaigned across the state with James in December, telling TheDCNF, John represents the best America has to offer, his relevant experience graduating from West Point and serving in combat makes him just the person Michigan, and America, needs in the US Senate.
As well as the long list of endorsements, James has also raised more than $2 million since announcing his candidacy in September.

That's a very good start especially for someone who has never run for office before - he would probably need around $10 million to defeat Stabenow - should be doable if he can continue to gain traction. This guy is a very different sort of candidate and would be more than just a "generic Republican" on the ballot against Stabenow. The other guy running, Sandy Pensler, would just be "generic Republican" - milquetoast.
He sounds like a good candidate
James is my preferred candidate. Not impressed at all with Pensler. It will be interesting to see how James develops his campaign from here.
James will definitely get my vote in the August primary and I hope every Michigan Freeper votes the same.
... there are two thing you need. Faith in God, and a Hellfire missile.
OMG! One of the best political ads Ive seen in a long time. Its fresh, funny, and very personable.
Early in the process with two on the ballot with 60 to 70%
undecided. Long ways to go yet with a filing deadline of
April 24, 2018, and the primary election will be held on
August 7, 2018.
...Pensler sounds too...Snyder-like.

I need to do a bit more research, but from what I’ve seen in the past week about John James, he has my vote in the August primary over Sandy Pensler.
i’ve seen him a couple of times on Fox and he was outstanding...
IMO Pensler is an establishment hack. A video of him bashing Trump earlier this year at a GOP meeting in Metro Detroit surfaced about a month ago. Soon afterwards, he started running pro Trump ads. I wouldn’t trust the guy as far as I could throw him. James all the way!
I forgot to add that James is going to have a difficult time beating Pensler for a few reasons. First is the amount of money that Pensler is spending on his own campaign. His ads are everywhere. More importantly is the fact that Michigan has an open primary and the Democrats will cross over to vote for Pensler, whom Stabmenow is more likely to beat. The last thing they want in Detroit or Flint is a black Republican against a white Democrat, so the ends justify the means.
MI has a open primary, but the Governor race is also in 2018 so the demonrats will be voting in their own primary to vote for that.
I doubt we will see much crossover voting this time.
“MI has a open primary, but the Governor race is also in 2018 so the demonrats will be voting in their own primary to vote for that.

That’s correct.
Only California to my knowledge ever allowed one to vote for say a Republican primary candidate for Governor and rat for Senator. This was called a “blanket primary” and was ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court in 2000 I believe.
That’s assuming Democrats only vote once, a very weak assumption, in this case.
Yes, if they want to vote for Demonrats they have to get a Demonrat ballot, and then they can’t vote for Republicans.
A 4 sec. video does not constitute a trashing of Trump. Don’t you think the entire conversation should be heard to put it in its proper context?
