My guess is they live in shadow of Sue Coleman / Law Dept and the SC ruling against them, so they double down on PC etc.
The sad part of it is, I know kids w mid 1500 SAT's / ACT's 33+ and because they are a white male they can't get in engrg or medicine @ U of M so they go to State.
Their I said it, that is what it is on the down-low.
It is not that they are not a good school, it is that they are so full of themselves, they are worse than freakin' Harvard.
BTW, I do know deplorable on campus and they live their politics on the down-low, it was hell after PDJT for days You dare not smile on campus.
That is how intense the Stalinist tenancies are on that campus.....
Room 101 awaits!

Have fun, Freepers!
Fake news...Fake education...yada, yada...
Thanks...I knew it has to be bad because von Spakovsky is not into exaggeration.
But will it cut both ways, e.g., if someone criticizes Trump, will Trump supporters be able to file complaints under this same policy?
You are joking? The liberals can do or say anything they want and it will be okay since they mean well. Anything that a conservative says will be prosecuted to the full extent.
“What is in Room 101?”
“Winston, everyone has a deep seated fear, something they cannot bear. Sometimes it is something relatively trivial and nonfatal. In your case, Winston the worst thing in the world is rats.”
— Quoted from memory, so give me as little slack on accuracy. But it applies here.
Thoughtcrime brings the inquisition and reeducation..
“..you may get a knock on your dorm room door from the universitys equivalent of the Thought Police, and be forced into a re-education camp. Or you may be suspended or thrown out of school, potentially damaging your educational prospects and your entire future professional career. ...”
There’s a way with people that would do crap like that.
It’s called “Street Justice” where I grew up.
Just sayin’.
The most intolerant wins...
The only possible way to effect any change - small as it may be — is to deny the university their lifeblood — money. Somehow we must find a way to shut off the flow of money to these universities — beyond the usual tuition, etc. For sure — federal money should not go to any institution that behaves like this.
Hillsdale is just a short distance from the University of Michigan.
Absolutely...Hit them in the wallet and it’ll get their attention pronto.
Made up after the fact, during the arrest/hearing/sentencing (choose one any and all you want to apply)
No.
You must have first hand knowledge of them. I worked there once and know you are right.
As the saying goes,Ignorance can be cured—stupid is forever.
used to be Red China
Actually: “Abortion is Life”.
They are actually starting to make this argument.
Same ongoing trend. In the past, it was done by individual instructors in important classes for majors (e.g., N.O.W. members). Without cause, they simply told individual students (e.g., new National Guard members) to get out. University administrators supported the instructors.
Someone had better take this seriously.
No one conservative at U of Michigan, where I used to work for 19 years, is permitted freedom of speech.
It is a terrible system when an idea is ruled out of order and a thought is forbidden. That’s what happens when an employee (faculty or staff) has to pretend to hate Trump or be ostracized and fired.
How disgusting that most people shrug their shoulders and let it go on. When the next Civil War arrives, we must remember the U. of Michigan types.
