Israel is part of western civilization. In fact, without Israel there wouldn’t ever have been a western civilization. It would have been different, certainly...but in the absence of Israel, the Roman Empire would still have existed.

Hisotrically, one of Israel's biggest problems is every time they get rolling "the West" steps in and bring diplomatic and economic pressure to stop Israel from winning.
What this headline is implying this "the West' needs to wake up and stop Israel from beating up poor little Syria again. What is missing is the fact that Israel is, and always has been, defending itself from external Arab or Persian aggression.
