Iran is stockpiling missiles in Syria, hoping to replicate these attacks against Israel. Iran’s leaders are insane and cannot be deterred - only killed. Imagine if the Soviets had used North Korea or North Vietnam to fire ballistic missiles at American cities during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts.
And this is before Iran has deployable nukes. We don’t want to find out what they’ll do once that program is complete. The time to bomb is now.

I take your point about the Houthis, but Syria is a bit different. As the Syrian Army has been beating off a horde of well financed jihadists, armed and sponsored by Turkey, for the past few years, they have demonstrated abilities.

Russia's interest is the oil (Golan Heights) and gas and oil (off coast), because any great movement of these to Europe will disrupt Russia's economy.
