James Madison wrote (“Letters & Writings of James Madison,” 1865, p. 406): “The advantage of being armed, which the Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation … forms a barrier against the enterprise of ambition. … Kingdoms of Europe … are afraid to trust the people with arms.”
Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story wrote in “Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States,” 2nd Edition, 1833, p. 125): “The right of the citizens to keep and bear arms has justly been considered as the palladium (safeguard) of the liberties of a Republic; since it offers a strong moral check against the usurpation and arbitrary power of rulers.”

As an aside, just saw an ad from some city council assclown(steve sisolak) who is running for Gov of NV yesterday. His platform is based on the LV concert shootings last year. Bloomberg probably loves this guy. "We're gonna ban 'assault rifles', bump stocks, 'silencers', but with Trump protecting the NRA and an AG Laxalt who refuses to enact laws it will take some hard work." Not exact but dang close. No doubt he will have the LV votes which could spell disaster. Of course a lot would require legislative action but the dems are in a position to do some nasty stuff. Heads up NV. We don't want to become a junior cali.

The founders were well aware that the Revolution would have never started or succeeded if the population did not have personal arms. The British commanders were shocked to find armed citizens. It was a bedrock belief that an armed citizenry was the best guarantee against tyranny whatever the source. That was the rational behind the 2nd Amendment. The Left hates it because they fear that their tyranny will be stopped by armed citizens.

Hmmm. Well, my family, who came from oppression of their religious beliefs with the Dutch Reform Church, have served from the Revolutionary war to the Civil War to WW2 to Korea to VN era to Iraq and Afghanistan. So Partiot Day applies. Same to you.

This one-liner should put to rest an issues with the 2A.

This may sound tin-foil-hatish, but you probably recall Steve Wynn, Mr. Las Vegas, Mr. Big, was recently taken down by some unsubstantiated ‘impropriety’ allegations. I think he eventually sold all his interest in Wynn Resorts.
I can’t imagine Mr. Wynn EVER allowing the communists to run Nevada, much less Las Vegas. But now he’s not a player there, correct?
Maybe all this was to get him out so as to allow this Sisolak to become Governor and chip away at the 2A.
No was of knowing, but it always baffled me how a man like Mr. Wynn could have been taken down as easily as he was. It somehow smacks of Deep State involvement.

The U.S. is an armed society and yet many of those so armed citizens wind up victims of various crimes, armed or not. I soon expect the gun grabbers will begin to preach that having a gun will not stop crime so give up you guns. Never going to happen at this location, PERIOD!

Yup. Don’t know if he’s on here in Reno local media since we NEVER watch it. Saw it on one of the cable nets as we were scrolling through. Pretty disgusting. And not a winning platform. At least until shannon watts and mark ass-tro-naught show up to push for him.
No indication in those ads which party he belongs to, either. Deceptive, IMO.
