If we are warmongers does that make you guys chicken littles?

I am really tired of the usage of name calling employed against those you disagree with. You are no better than leftists.

Do you guys have actual knowledge that Assad did not use chemical weapons? If the answer is no, then you are speaking purely from emotions.

Either way, there is now that much less chemical weapons to be used as what were destroyed. We cannot afford let Russia use fear as a control method as to what our response will be, and in the scheme of things our response was minimal. If they want to make more of it than it was, it will be to their detriment.

“Military movements are always communicating unspoken “language” between nation leaders......nothing “dumb” about it.”

Yes it is.

It’s one of the Two Major Blunders: 1. Never start a land war in Asia...

“China has already matched our GNP”

Not by the numbers I see. They were third in 2017.

I still believe it’s all Kabuki Theater, with each side knowing what the other will do in advance.

Usually, that’s the case.

That’s why I’m trying not to get too worked up about it.

With Russia, nothing is as it seems.

Exactly right. This is the fulfillment of Bible Prophecy and any secular or worldly arguments displayed on this thread are irrelevant. God is in charge and His Will be done.

This is beginning to look like Scene 2 of a very ominous movie.

They can accuse me of whatever they so feel inclined to accuse me of, because I know what I am, and none of those are even remotely the case. But do not fear as I will return fire just as rapidly as they dished out their ignorant accusations. 8>)

It looks like the “consequences” Putin warned of were mostly for Russia.

They are now compelled to allocate more manpower and machines to Syria to ensure Assad’s victory.

And those resources will also act as a bulwark to any other foreign forces inclined to put resources there...specifically Turkey. And, of course, the US backed “rebels”.

Russia will now have to help Assad prevail...directly.

“Is my view of the Russian rationale reasonable?”

It is both rational and correct.

I took a look at the pics - seems like pretty small stuff.

That being said, we know that Bible Prophecy will be fulfilled to the latter. some day.

The pieces continue to fall into place. Having Iran and Russia operate so close to Israel is -— interesting to say the least.

“At some point, you’d think Assad would say your Russian crap hasn’t worked as advertised for over 50 years... “

It’s better than nothing and the best they can acquire.

But, for sure, the older it is the more it sucks.

China has cash.
China needs growth,
Hence, they can pay for and profit from war in Syria...

Mid East is as important to China as a market as it is to anyone as an energy source.

The older it is, the more it sucks but the newer it is the more it's vaporware.

'Yeah, yeah, version 1.4 sucks we agree with you, but just wait til 2.0 comes out!'
