Russians are not stupid. They took our President’s heads up on incoming missiles and cleared themselves out of the area. Reinforcements means only that they will have to clear more gear and troops the next time there’s a chem weapons operation in effect and the US fires missiles again.

They are not going to attack coalition forces because they are not stupid. Their only role is to prop up Assad which they are allowed to do as long as Assad stays away from chem weapons.

Russia’s stake is to block any pipeline from Saudi Arabia through Syria to Turkey and then up into Europe. Russia oil and gas supply to Europe is a cash cow for them.

Trump is playing the match exceedingly well. He’s just shown the Russians that America, France, and the UK are not afraid of them, and he’s put Assad on notice that he better behave. US missiles rule.

What I’m REALLLLLY happy about is that we’re not getting invaded here in CONUS, right..?

And not every day, a couple thousand or so, over the last 30 or 40 years.

Press 1 for English.

Yup, we got it alllll wrapped up, here at home, tight as a drum...!

Now we can go all over the GLOBE..!

Won’t our military people just relish THAT..!

Pipeline conspiracies are for suckers. Congrats!

The big suckers are the ones who think the West involves themselves in these civil wars for absolutely no reason other than their heartfelt concern for suffering and civilian lives.

Remember NATO in Libya in 2011? "We're only there to protect civilians." What a laugh.

Yea, we’re have a shell of a military (thanks to the ‘peace dividend’) and we keep running around the world like we’re kings.

China has already matched our GNP, but without anything close to our debt level - so they can, if they want, simply outspend us militarily until we collapse trying to keep up (as in Soviet Union in 1980s). Anyone who reads the Washington Times knows that Russia may have been told that they ‘lost’ the Cold War, but they certainly don’t act like losers. I think just about everything they have has been updated/replace/modernized - while our idea of modernization is to replace old, proven, systems with ‘high-tech’ GPS and Sat-comm, because they’re more flashy. We don’t have to worry about those systems being (easily) jammed, because, why, that isn’t permitted by the UN.

Go figure.

If I’m reading the map correctly it goes through Syria either way.

Yea, it’s going to be fun watching all this “concern” for poor innocent civilians completely evaporate when the South African genocide of whites comes out of the closet. These same people fretting over dead terrorists aren’t going to lift a damn finger.

Not so.......Pipelines 'hardwire' countries and leverage...

Add Israels potential and easy to see what 'the hook' might be.

Daily Mail is way right...but at times like this with a Tory government, it toes the government line big time.

“Russian reinforcements head for Syria: Warships laden with tanks, military trucks.”

It’s dumb for us to do that.

It’s dumb for Russia to do that.

I would think your points would be a rational response on the Russians' part.

But Putin seems to have become emotionally involved with competing with the US in a graduating series of escalations, instead of seeking a modus vivendi where both countries' interests are respected.

It's not clear to me what Putin sees as the end game here.

Military movements are always communicating unspoken “language” between nation leaders......nothing “dumb” about it.
