...when receiving the Freedom Award from producer/writer Norman Lears collectivist People for the American Way organization, Parker and Stone must have sensed that the leftie group really didnt understand freedom or their long-standing devotion to mixing satire with their love of liberty. So, in their inimitable in-your-face-yet-kind-hearted style, they asked conservative/libertarian talk show host Larry Elder to introduce them at the event!
And when Parker and Stone accepted the award, they got to the stage, stood before the microphone, and in classic fashion, kindly informed the statists they were Republicans.
As Elder explained on Twitter:
After they graciously accepted, they said, Were republicans. Nervous laughter. They repeated, No, seriously, were republicans. #Priceless.'

Per this article, a website known for supporting jihad against the West, published a warning to Matt Stone and Trey Parkerthe creators of South Park" - that they could end up like Theo Van Gogh, a Dutch filmmaker who was shot and stabbed to death by an extremist, for depicting Muhammad on their show.
Trey and Matt submitted shows to Comedy Central (which runs their show) depicting Muhammad but the channel either censored or bleeped much of that content. Stone said about the whole incident:
I think Comedy Central totally f****** ****ed out. Now, they werent any different than anyone else, so its not like you can single them out. But I think it wouldve been an important statement for one media outlet in America to stand up. That was one of my most disappointing moments as an Americanthe American presss reaction to the Muhammad cartoons. It was completely wimpy. Cartoonists, people who do satirewere not in the army, were never going to be f****** drafted and this is our time to stand up and do the right thing. And to watch the New York Times, Comedy Central, everybody just go No, were not going to do it because basically were afraid of getting bombed sucked. I was so disappointed.
Yea, the show is crude and just wrong at times. I find myself turning it off not infrequently. It is also at times brilliant. It is hard to paint the show with a broad brush - libertarian is more right than wrong - but this exchange sums it up nicely:
Q: Are you two guys liberal or conservative? Me and my friends have had debates about this.
Parker: We avoid extremes but we hate liberals more than conservatives and we hate them [conservatives].
Stone: I hate conservatives but I really f****** hate liberals.
There are other shows I'd avoid before South Park. Your mileage may vary.
Oh boy!

I don’t believe them, but it does not matter what I believe.
There are very few ways left that this duo can shock anybody, but this may do the trick for a while.
They are very clever, perceptive and imaginative, humorists of their time. But most of their cartoons have a dark, cynical, mean streak to them. Usually, after about 10 minutes of cartoon exposure, I’ve had enough.

There are many, many more that could be on this list (literally too many to remember/count), but these are some of the best, IMHO.
stupid spoiled whore.
Ive always suspected they were conservatives
I didn’t think they were conservative but it seemed they hadn’t drunk the kool aid... took courage on their part. Both of ‘em are in my prayers ...
They had the Trump character raped and murdered on their show, right?
Im assuming they got so fed up with left wing hollyeird that they finally decided to rub it in that theyve been quiet conservatives
They were libertarians. What changed.

You mean the 2 guys that made Team America are not liberals?
Sexual Harassment Panda was my favorite episode.
“There is no ‘I’ in Team America!”
“Umm...Yes, there is.”
“How you rike me NOW, Hans Brix!”
“I’m. Matt. Damon.”
I think Donald Trump happened.
There are a lot of people who believe in the things he does, but who did not want to identify as old-style GOP.
Now they are ok with it. I think this is why Donald Trump won, and is our president right now.
With apologies to Rev Jackson is one of the funniest things Ive ever seen.
Margaritaville was another that made fun of the 2008 recession.
