In a statement sent to the Guardian, Malloch, who described himself as a policy wonk and defender of Trump, said the FBI also asked him about his relationship with Roger Stone, the Republican strategist, and whether he had ever visited the Ecuadorian embassy in London, where the Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has resided for nearly six years.
In a detailed statement about the experience, which he described as bewildering and intimidating at times, Malloch said the federal agents who stopped him and separated him from his wife “seemed to know everything about me” and warned him that lying to the FBI was a felony. In the statement Malloch denied having any Russia contacts.
Malloch became a source of controversy in 2016 when he was floated in media reports as a possible US ambassador to the EU, following an aggressive campaign in which, according to several reports at the time, he promoted himself as a strong candidate. European officials, alarmed by the possible pick and his lack of diplomatic credentials, openly criticised Malloch, particularly after he compared the EU to the Soviet Union.

I do not know about Mueller’s exposure on the U1 mess outside of the apparent fact that the FBI was aware of potential bribes being in play related to the deal and parties involved.
However, and I say this objectively, under ANY interpretation of “Conflict of Interest” he should not have been selected as the Independent Counsel. There is not a Judge in the country that would be able to hear a matter before the court if he had such a relationship with one of the primary witnesses as Mueller has with Comey. It is a DEFACTO disqualification for his present position regardless of his motives for or against the President. The same is true of the man who selected him and is overseeing the special counsel for DOJ. How in the world the AG, who has clearly stated that being a mere surrogate and commenting publicly about something creates a conflict CANNOT see this is quite mysterious to me.
Why will Sessions not apply the same standard about conflicts to those under him? If he did so, by an objective measure, it would be very apparent that the conflicts by his deputy and the man the deputy chose to be SC are FAR worse than any conflict he had at the outset. Comey is a main actor in this entire play. He is tied closely to Mueller and stated his purpose for leaking classified info (a crime) was to have his friend and mentor Mueller appointed as SC. The man who appointed Mueller was in fact the one who recommended that Comey be fired! You cannot make this stuff up and the whole thing now appears to be an incestuous mess of convoluted logic.
He had to sign conflict of interest waiver form. Congress has demand to see that document, Rosenstein has thus far not allowed release to the committee chairs. Something reeks, and reeks badly...
More wishful thinking, I fear.
The IG is an Obama appointee.
And the Special Investigator that Jeff Sessions appointed in late 2017 was an Obama appointed U.S. Attorney for eight years.
It is impossible for me to understand the lackadaisical and feckless attitude that Trump takes when dealing with political corruption in the DOJ and FBI.
Sessions is totally inept, the IG takes months to complete tasks that should require only days or weeks, and the Chairmen of the relevant House investigating committees would be completely invisible if they did not get TV appearances on Fox News.
Frankly, I will be shocked if any Obama appointees get indicted, and I will have cardiac arrest if any of them actually get convicted and do jail time.
Trump, who is the Chief Executive Officer of the Executive branch of government, should be at the DOJ and FBI every day, reading documents, declassifying documents, releasing documents, and asking questions.
Instead, nothing.
If the GOP loses the House in 2018, investigations of the Obama administration will grind to a permanent halt.
I’ll have a heart attack if anyone is charged with treason or the RICO statutes are employed for that matter.
Roger Stone is a complete kook... anyone associating with the guy is a fool... including Trump, if it’s true they were as close as Roger Stone has claimed, which I doubt.
Mueller, Rosenstein, AND HUBER are all SES.
They should investigate the last few DNC conventions- like the one held in Denver, where John Kerry met with a war criminal and IIRC, some Sein Fein douchebag.
I would say it sounds very low IQ to think, given everything we know about Trump, that the single factor of his association with Stone would change our view of him 180 degrees and qualify him as a fool.
Why talk to them?
If they didn’t have a warrant, don’t talk them and walk away from them.
If they had a warrant, make sure your attorney is doing all the talking for you.

I can’t explain why the AG is doing or not doing anything - because, for one thing, I don’t know what he’s doing or not doing.
So there are two seperate questions here:
1) Is the AG not doing something he should be doing or doing something he should not be doing? Answer: I can’t know because the DOJ is withholding information from congressional committees.
2) Does the AG have a legitimate reason for withholding information from congressional committees? Answer: I believe so. While Jim Jorden and Mark Meadows are honestly seeking justice, the committee’s they are leading are bipartisan and therefore compromised. Every single thing that those committees hear, regardless of classification, will be leaked by Adam Schiff or whomever, if it suits them to do so. The deep state targets of any investigations that may be going on will know anything the congressional committees know.
If I’m right that the DOJ is holding back for that reason, then of course, Jordan and Meadows would be astute enough to figure that out. So why are they still openly protesting Sessions holding back, demanding un-redacted information and the appointment of special councils?
I don’t know, but if I had to guess, I’d say that their credibility to their co-committee members, their constituents and the public depends on their aggressive and non partisan pursuit of the truth. Any appearance of backing off, cutting the DOJ any slack, any expression of confidence that Sessions has this covered, would be seen as partisan cheerleading, Republicans providing political cover for Sessions so he can pursue Democrats in secret.
They are smart enough to know (and Trump is smart enough to know) that if they want to be seen as bipartisan seekers of truth and justice, they must avoid any display of comeraderie with the DOJ.
They are smart enough to know (and Trump is smart enough to know) that for the DOJ to make any headway in draining the swamp, they can’t be dragged in front of congressional committees filled with swamp creatures and forced to reveal their strategies and the details of their investigations, or even the fact that those investigations are underway.
What is the best way to catch a crook? Convince him that the case is closed - there’s no investigation - nobody is looking for him - so he’ll come out of hiding.

For a year all I hear is public expressions of outrage and frustration that Sessions is doing nothing. But yet he remains AG. Why is that? Is Trump the type of POTUS who complains for a year but takes no action? I don’t think so.
