DETROIT - A former senior ranking United Automobile Workers (UAW) official is accused of taking part in a conspiracy in which she and other union officials accepted a stream of concealed payments and things of value from FCA executives.

Nancy A. Johnson, of Macomb Township, allegedly took part in this bribery scheme with FCA executives in the months leading up to the 2015 collective bargaining negotiations, according to the United States Attorney's Office.......

Johnson is accused of illegally accepting tens of thousands of dollars worth of designer clothing, golf resort fees, limousine services, lavish meals, luxury accommodations, luggage, and first-class travel for herself and one of her associates.

I know this gal, she worked at my Budd Company plant and was given a desk job in the sanitation dept. following an alleged company injury before she accepted a position at Solidarity House.

It was a classic union insider job offer since she had nothing going for her intelligence wise but was a fairly attractive black woman…. And yet, she ends up on the UAW International bargaining committee dealing with Fiat Chrysler…………..go figure.

This type of corruption has been rampant within the UAW for years, they’re nothing more than the mafia of the auto industry. I’m surprised they even got busted………..

I guess FCA is Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, although the article just assumes we’re all locals and know what those initials mean.

Impossible.

Her only concern was for the workers.

Just like Lizzy Warren and Hillary Clinton.

When I was a kid, the last Budd plant closed in Philadelphia and was one of the last manufactures to leave the city for good. It was an end of an era.

I can only confirm the first part with certainty. The 2nd part may be debatable depending upon one's tastes. For my taste, too wide, though it's really kind of a close call at this angle. I'd have to see better pictures. 8>)

Finding union corruption isn't exactly like finding a four leaf clover. Thanks Hot Tabasco for the additional background info.
