Oakland cafe’s refusal to serve police draws attention

After WWII, my aunt and uncle lived on Fruitvale Ave. It was a very nice middle class neighborhood. Today, I would not venture into that area. It is definitely “not diverse!”

The police should oblige and also refuse to respond to calls for service at that cafe under the auspices of respecting the cafe policy of not wanting police on the property.

How can a public accomodation do that? What happened to “Bake me a cake or else!”

My thoughts as well. In this case though the professed reason was the safety of the customers, and thus the policemen could have refused to leave, resulting in the police being called. Meanwhile, in the Jack Phillips case he did not want to be an accomplice to evil, and was actually acting consistent with the highest law of the state at the time, and above all, the supreme law of God.
