how on earth is it legitimate to take away 2nd amendment right from 18-21 year olds? It can’t be.

How did people go along with this?

The drinking age in the U.S. is already an absurd 21, where it's lower, sometimes significantly so, in other First World countries. Some blue states are now raising the smoking age to 21.

This country treats people like babies for way too long.

Don’t be surprised if it is fought in the courts.

They submit to passion rather than reason.

More people must be “medicated” now than I ever thought possible to accept this kind of crap as something good for our Constitutional right to “keep and bear arms”......

“People” didn’t...legislators did. They also said openly on the floor of the House that children mature more slowly today so 21 may not actually be adult today.

Same people that went along with raising the beer age to 21 and the tobacco products age to 21(in many states), etc.

We’re going to have soldiers that carry M16s who can’t buy a rifle...

‘how on earth is it legitimate to take away 2nd amendment right from 18-21 year olds?”

When I was a 12 year old kid I had a 22 and a 20 gauge shotgun. Just about every kid I knew either owned one or could freely just take dads out to go plink gophers or tin cans. Before that we trained on BB guns.

I will bet a buck they got some statistics, and it showed that a far smaller percentage of people aged 18-20 purchased guns than people aged 21 and up.

It was easy pickings for them. The only people who might be really upset are law abiding 18-20 year old people who had the money and desire to purchase a weapon but are unable to.

I am against it because it is completely, totally, and wholly arbitrary.

I know a lot of 18 year olds I would readily hand weapons to (Hello, US Marines?) and I know millions of 21 and up people that I would prevent from owning weapons if I had the power to do so. (I wouldn’t...but I would like the concept)
