For Google's Security and Privacy Month, we are honored to present the real Frank Abagnale, Renowned Cybersecurity And Fraud Prevention Expert, Bestselling Author ...
Frank Abagnale?
Is he the versatile actor who played Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, as they fled prosecution for years if not decades?
(Kidding aside, I know he was the main character the movie “Catch Me if You Can” was based on.)
and convicted felon...
Technically they did catch him but not Hillary...
The book was better than the movie.
I remember George Putnam interviewing him many years ago
Who said crime doesn’t pay?
That was a good talk. Glad you directed me there.
Why do I not believe anything he says?
Good Point.
Ive seen this video before and it was well worth watching.
Without giving away anything, he tells you the real story rather than the Spielberg/Hollywood spin. Its very enlightening and entertaining, and he acknowledges that he was a bad guy rather than some type of misunderstood and likable cad. The real story is what he did with his life after he got caught. He became a committed and moral husband, father, businessman, and citizen.
Would be wise to forget about the movie and listen to him tell his side of the story and what he is like in reality.
Just a suggestion
Did you know that because the FBI got him out of that French prison when he was still a teen, he vowed to give back to them for saving him from rotting away there... he gives regular seminars to the FBI on catching bank fraud/check fraud schemes for free?
I’m looking forward to watching this.
A few years ago, I called his company to see if I could get an interview with him. Turns out his wife (who pretty much saved him from himself) answered the phone. After a good conversation, she said that it was hard to carve out time for a detailed interview but gave me permission to quote anything out of any of his books. Then she sent me a few of his books, no charge. I respect the hell out of them.
That was fascinating. He thinks so rapidly, you have to really pay close attention during the last half, the future technology part, to follow his inferences, but it is well worth the time.
Saw the movie two or three times and then read up on his life, but his life story remains quite riveting.
I am amazed that Google allowed him to say the politically incorrect thingthat, based on the turning point in his life that triggered his life of crimeevery child needs a father and a mother. But they did. Maybe they were afraid he would mess with them if they tried to censor his message! /sarc

Thanks for posting. I liked the movie and loved hearing him tell the accurate version of what happened. This guy went to great lengths in his scams. Very interesting.
Ping for later
