The guy who used to run Perkiomen Valley Airport near Greatersford kept a MU Solitare in the community storage hangar. He flew it just enough to stay current.

We’d land in Gimli and then drive up to Pine Dock and catch the float planes. Love those remote fly in fishing trips, love Manitoba. Once as we were coming in the were having drag races on the runway, we had to circle a couple of times until they got it cleared. What better place for a bunch of old Crown Royal drinking Texans to land than Gimli, home of the Crown Royal Distillery. We took our hat’s off in honor!
Had to look up Gimli Glider, that had to have been spooky.
A good buy for the less well-heeled is the old BEECHCRAFT BARON, or, for something with a bit more sport, the Aerostar 700.
Thanks libh8er. Research on this started in one of the Missouri universities, wound up funded and finished in Japan. Putting the engines where they are quiets the interior. It's a remarkably low-priced subsonic personal jet.
