A report released Friday claims four of Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel’s deputies waited outside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School while the attack was occurring. On February 22 Breitbart News reported that one deputy resigned after it was learned that he was on scene but failed to control Nikolas Cruz. Sheriff Israel told ABC 13 that video shows the deputy, Scott Peterson, “arrive at the west side of Building 12” and “take a position” outside the school — but never go inside. The sheriff’s office moved to suspend Peterson, who resigned before the suspension could take place.
Now CNN reports that the Coral Springs police officers claim three other Broward County deputies were outside the school but failed to go inside as well. They quote “Coral Springs sources” who said the three “deputies had their pistols drawn and were behind their vehicles” when Coral Springs officers arrived. They said “not one of [the deputies] had gone into the school.”

Yeah, since unarmed teachers and ROTC students gave their lives protecting others, I do expect the officers who have sworn to do that job, and are paid by taxpayers to do that job, and trusted by parents to protect their children, that they should have gotten their scared butts in there and FOUGHT!

I can’t help thinking of the NYPD and firemen who walked up the stairs on 9/11.
I have a lot to live for and people who need me, but if I had an opportunity to do what that coach did and save some kids at the expense of my own life, I’d do it. And my kids would one day understand. What is wrong with these “first responders”?
I know training doctrine in PA (from about 5 yrs ago) was changed from waiting for negotiators to show up (Columbine rules) to having the first four officers form a fire team and go in. Training included clearing rooms with front two or three while having rear guard watch your 6, also transitioning intersections with left and right guy covering sides so lead could cover ahead without having to cover his flanks too.
I hope the parents sue the asses off of the Sheriff’s Department. “Bullies” are bad but COWARDS are worse. IMHO.
Some do use noisemakers and special .223 paintball rounds that work in the patrol rifles with a special bolt to allow the rifle to function semi-auto with the reduced recoil of the paintball rounds.
However, I can’t see an exercise happening without all LEO knowing it’s going on. Typically, many surrounding depts that would be providing assistance for the real thing will be invited to come and train so Officers can learn each others buildings, some are real mazes.

So let me see if I have this right. The Broward Cowards were watching a 20 minute delayed video of Cruz shoot up the place and they thought the event was still going down live? It didnt dawn on them that they weren’t hearing shots corresponding to what they were watching???
