He’s gonna be the scapegoat.

Local LE, FBI, School Admin, all failed as well as the closing of the “school to prison pipeline.” And that’s only the most apparent.

Zero Tolerance, Bullying (and I mean all the fake bullying crap), no discipline in schools and homes, changes in parenting( or lack thereof), etc. Private or homeschooling is great. My kids were private schooled from k-8 and public schooled in an affluent/safe area for high school. Neither will solve the country-wide problem. And both are minuscule in the grand scheme of things.

I saw a post that the planned children’s march of half a million, or whatever it’s called, will be met with 2nd A supporters since it’s the 2nd A. I have my doubts.

That’s interesting, because it has been stated that the shooting only lasted for five minutes.

It has also been stated that the officer was not on the exact location where this shooting started.

If those things are true, Israel is lying his ass off.

What do you think the local police responded with here, once they were dispatching officers?

5, 10, 25, 50 or more?

To listen to the experts on this thread, they obviously think the local police only needed to send over one officer.

They are convinced one officer should have ended this.

LOL, the idiots are certainly out in force tonight.

This is the 9/11 of school shootings.

Think about it.

After 9/11 all the hijackings came to an abrupt end. There were no more hijackings on domestic flights. People became proactive. Security stepped up.

Now, this school shooting is going to have everybody think and say why weren't there measures and pre-cautions taken after all the shootings after Columbine in 1999.

If there's going to be another school shooting, I predict administrative staff or teachers are going to quietly pack heat. Or you'll see students gang-tackle the perp.

This may be the end of an era, and the Left will get screwed because they overreached as usual.

If I knew there was only one guy and I thought I could effect and end to the slaughter, yes. If I wasn’t sure how many people there were and I might get caught in a cross-fire that would only have resulted in my death and additional shots being scattered around the heavily occupied wing of the school, then no.

If you’re over 30 feet away from the perp, it would be very hard to hit him. With his rifle he could take you out with a shot or two.

Folks, I’m really sorry there weren’t 18 deaths total. I know there are quite a few folks here that are disappointed.

Enterprise :" It seemed to me that Kilt was stating facts about the incident.
Other than that, the officer disgraced himself, his department, and other officers."

Exactly true !
Facts, not conjecture !
Thank you, Enterprise, for your insight, and analysis of the situation.

I don’t know at this time how many officers were enroute. I know from the reports that there was one officer who could have engaged the shooter, and he failed to do so.

"setting up the perimeter"

Using military terminology does not make an individual military. Although I don't know for sure, I'm guessing that Peterson had never been in a military small arms combat specialty or military police training. Might not have been in the military at all (which is the case with most civilian police).

And by the way, most military people by far are not combat specialty soldiers. Last I saw (long ago), a very small portion of soldiers (less than 5% ?) were in specialties that continue to put much of their time into frequent and ongoing infantry small arms light combat exercises (11B, 12B, Marine rifles/small arms and a few others).

If you want men who should do well in dangerous situations as armed security guards, those who went through initial training in prior service for specialties for light, small arms combat should be good ones to look for. Make sure that they successfully graduated from initial training for such a specialty (one-station unit training or combination of basic and advanced initial training) and were not transfers to a combat unit from a more...ahem, rear echelon specialty (sometimes happens).

Then you explain to me why the police send upwards of 50 people in response to these types of situations.

Some folks have determined it only takes on guy.

Let me know when you find one instance where only one officer was sent out to end this type of a situation.

I don’t give a rat’s ass what these motor-mouths say.

Their grand police department didn’t even bother to make sure this guy was taken care off the 30 times they were called out on him.

Now it the security guy’s fault?

LOL

Folks seriously...

“Everyone down there is covering their ass. The police are. The school officials are. The public placement agency is. Counseling services are. The courts likely are.”

Good post. Add the FBI and the surrogate parents. Cruz was a flashing red light for years. Now everyone has found a convenient scapegoat to point at...He was just the last guy to fail to do anything.
