When shooting sprees occur, such as the events last week in Florida, it’s more important we just do something than it is that the response is timely or effective, according to columnist Jill Lawrence.
“As both sides in the gun debate mobilize for a possible second act on Capitol Hill, could we please retire the argument that taking step X on guns wouldn’t have prevented tragedy Y?” Lawrence wrote in 2013 in an article reproduced this week to try to sway the new Florida-inspired debate on gun control.

When intelligent and informed people patiently explain that what they want us to do would not have prevented the shooting, the liberal Democrat/media response is to throw a temper tantrum.

The Democrat-Communists desperately need to have American citizens disarmed. They can not achieve their global communist agenda unless we are an unarmed population. They will do anything, say anything, spend anything and even kill people to achieve this aim. Make no mistake, they will do anything to disarm us. Law enforcement can not protect you or your family.

If liberals really want to stop these shootings, why don't they propose something that would work? Armed security, screening and access control measures, anyone?
Or are they less interested in saving lives than playing politics with the dead?

Just make it illegal to shoot kids in school. You could call it a “gun free zone”. That would be just as effective.

I agree with her 100%.
When a bail bondsman tells the FBI that a kid just posted on social media and stated that he wanted to be a professional school shooter, the FBI or the local police should have arrested him for making terrorist threats and made sure he didn’t have access to guns.
But n-o-o-o, Jill wants to punish millions of people who had absolutely nothing to do with the crime. Idiots.
Yes, why wasn’t that “something” done?

What they want is abolition of the 2nd amendment ( and likely much of the First as well) and an unarmed citizenry like Japan.
After all, what is government for if it’s not to pass laws that are essentially meaningless virtue posturing?
