Students, parents and staff at C.K. McClatchy High School are upset over a science fair project by a student in its elite magnet program that questioned whether certain races of people lack the intelligence to handle the program’s academically challenging coursework.

The problem lies in the culture that chooses to punish its’ members who dare try to climb out of it.

The “Crab Bucket Mentality” is very much a reality in the black community.

Why the outrage?

It’s a data question.

"Unless someone can show me several peer-reviewed scientific studies that show some type of abnormality within the Brain/Brain structures/DNA of those of African descent, then this whole notion that they lack the necessary intelligence:
capacity for learning, reasoning, understanding, and similar forms of mental activity; aptitude in grasping truths, relationships, facts, meanings, etc.
is a bunch of bullshit."

Peer reviewed? Seriously? You do know that getting anywhere near anything written on this subject is a career killing move, right?

In the off chance that you are actually interested in a well written, documented book on this subject I can suggest this:

If all those black people and others such as Thomas Sowell and Clarence Thomas are genetically inferior, how does one explain their success if not more that of nurture over nature.

If you look at Murray's Bell Shaped curve you would see there are blacks at the higher ends just not the same percent as whites or Asians

"Going as far back as Dr Wm Shockley and Yale"

William Shockley

Won the 1956 Nobel Prize in physics.

"Shockley's attempts to commercialize a new transistor design in the 1950s and 1960s led to California's "Silicon Valley" becoming a hotbed of electronics innovation. In his later life, Shockley was a professor of electrical engineering at Stanford University and became a proponent of eugenics"

BTW, Intels latest single chip microprocessor has 7.2 billion transistors on it.

There is a large difference between being less intelligent and intellectually dishonest. I don’t believe any of those folks that you have listed are “dumb”, I believe that they are intellectually dishonest, which is far worse than being dumb.

Again trying to generalize is silly. To confine the black experience to the ghetto is silly and dishonest as well. I work and associate with many black Americans who are not only successful but have the full support of the blacks around them. Not every black grows up in the ghetto surrounded by those who do not want others to succeed.

What is the official language of Ghana?

Why?

What was the GDP in 1957?

And in 2017?

Remember to adjust for inflation.

Can you draw any conclusions from that?

Whether there’s any more to it than that is harder to say.
= = = = = = = = =
I agree with you to the point of normal conversation..

Like RLimbaugh has said...Absurdity to the point of being absurd.

The ‘norm’ in a lot of circles is you must be (pick your poison) if you don’t vote for.......

How about the HRC supporter who PUBLICLY stated that women that didn’t vote for HRC had a special place in hell.

A major topic today is whether the Russians interfered with our election.
How come These same people don’t have any problem with J Carter and his ilk actually going to foreign countries to ‘monitor’ their elections. THAT IS INTERFERENCE.

We send our Military overseas and build up communities for them and say we have that ‘right’ yet will say that ‘newbies’ in this country want to turn our country into theirs.

Granted in a lot of cases WE are asked BUT I seem to remember when we went and pulled Kuwaits ballzz out of the fire we couldn’t take our chaplains etal with us (openly) and probably some sort of edict that Jews got treated like the rest of us.

We had some ‘problems’ in NY and NJ about phone and electrical people showing up and having to join the Union to help put them back together again.
Granted the ‘volunteers’ were taking work away from the regulars but that shouldn’t be the issue, the issue is getting the lights put back on while the recipients of the help are ‘worried’ about overtime and union dues.

I wonder how many citizens OPENLY got on the Unions & Power Companies for taking that stance.

x-check my new tagline....

I don't understand why it's accepted that all of the various physical components of the human body, i.e., skin color, eye color, bone structure, muscle mass etc. are all subject to genetics, but the organ responsible for logic processing.. the brain (also a physical component of the human body) is not subject to the same genetic factors as the rest of the human body.

Obviously some people are smarter than others. It's measurable. I am no genius and I readily accept that other people are smarter than me without resentment. So why is it unacceptable to observe that some groups of people may be smarter on average than other groups of people? Some groups of people may be better at physical activities due to genetics, while other groups of people may be better at logic processing activities due to genetics. What one man has another does not, and what another man does not have, the other does.

The entire controversy and subsequent resentment is really an issue about pride. Just remember that.

What a horrible subject. I agree with the outrage. Let’s forget about race and encourage all Americans on, no matter what, as long as their behavior is good.

Now, if you want to argue that their culture diminishes the need for education, then I am willing to agree with you.

Minnesota Transracial Adoption Study examined the IQ test scores of 130 black or interracial children adopted by advantaged white families. Here we had black kids, raised since babyhood, in middle to upper-middle class white households. Immersed in white culture all their lives. Going to white suburban schools.

At 17, their IQs were tested. Average IQ of kids with two black biological parents: 89.

“What is the official language of Ghana?

Why?”

English.

Uh, because it was under UK colonial administration?

“What was the GDP in 1957?

And in 2017?

Can you draw any conclusions from that?”

That political turmoil is bad for business? Greece is a great example of that.

Since 2000 they have had a fairly impressive rise. Kenya even bigger.

The word “racist” is not a negative. It is used by those not willing to look at facts when the facts are along lines of race.

In this case, it is.

God created man, including his brain. Out-of-the-chute, so to speak, we, more or less, on average, start on a level playing field across races.

At that point, if your case is that Black people have a lower IQ than other races, you FRiend, are a Racist in the most pejorative terms of that word.

If you are making a case that because of the manner of being raised, and/or the norms of their culture, and as a result, how much emphasis was put on education, that in general Blacks show a lower IQ at some later stage of their life, then I can agree with you.

But those who would argue that Black people are some how inferior because they have a lower IQ, irrespective of their life experiences, are the worst people you will meet.

Good Auntie is always a Great Auntie. My children hated when I would make them do work over for neatness. Their answers and work were their own but I was not gonna make some poor teacher strain her eyes deciphering chicken scratch.

They would tell me “The teacher doesn’t mind.” Sadly they were probably right. Our teachers would just hand stuff right back and tell us to do it again. You lost points too for turning it in late. I bet teachers would catch heck for doing that now.

[We need to go back to merit based school admissions and hiring because the whole affirmative action business is what keeps this divisive discussion going.]

you are absolutely correct! But not politically correct.

Affirmative Action is a product of Cultural Marxism. Affirmative Action is an affirmation of the Marxist takeover of our culture, and by extrapolation, of our society.

Affirmative Action’s history includes the ACLU.

It would be instructive and eye opening to learn the history of the ACLU.

If I described what really happened I would be banned. Yes, even on Free Republic. I have seen others zotted for telling the truth about political correctness, and who and what is behind it.

Everything is political today. But more and more things are not correct.

And as you say, catmom, we must return to a merit based culture and society.

Affirmative Action is a body blow to a merit based body politic.

The divisive discussion is going to increase. And it will lead to action we both long for and fear.
