A school board in Wisconsin has agreed to pay $800,000 to settle a lawsuit in the case of a transgender former student born female who was initially denied the request to use boys' bathrooms. The Kenosha Unified School Board voted 5-2 Tuesday night in favor of the $800,000 settlement, Kenosha News reported. Lawyers said that $650,000 of that sum would go toward attorney's fees.
The student, Ash Whitaker, a biological female who identifies as a male, claimed the school had carried out discriminatory practices in requiring that students use the bathrooms of the gender they were born with.
Whitaker, who graduated Tremper High School in June 2017, also claimed that school staff would monitor trips to the bathroom. The 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals had ruled in May to uphold U.S. District Court Judge Pamela Pepper's injunction allowing Whitaker to use male-only restrooms despite the school's directives.
The settlement also allows Whitaker to use male bathrooms when returning to the school as an alumni.
"I am deeply relieved that this long, traumatic part of my life is finally over and I can focus on my future and simply being a college student," Whitaker, who is now attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison, said in response to the settlement decision...
In another settlement last August, a charter school in Minnesota agreed to pay $120,000, as well as to institute a gender-neutral school uniform policy and train its staff in transgender student sensitivities, after a civil lawsuit from the parents of a transgender student claimed the school did not do enough to protect their child from experiencing bullying and harassment.
Hmm. And if rapes occur because schools allow “transgenders” to use the bathroom of the opposite gender, the schools will also be subject to lawsuits.
While this girl gets a thrill from pretending to be a boy, the fact is that most people pretending to be the opposite gender are men. And, as a woman, I do not feel safe with a man in the restroom.
I pray that this particular insane hold-over from the Obama reign disappears soon. As an example of the periodic insanities that sometimes afflict society, this “transgender” fad is particularly egregious.
Actually lil Ashie is a victim of LIEberal propaganda purveying as ‘enlightened education’ for her to decide that she wants to be a boy. Truth is this child will eventually become mentally and spiritually unhealthy and perturbed as a result of this twisted decision.
It was NEVER about using the boys bathroom. These lawsuits are ALWAYS about the financial payday for the alleged discrimination.
As with everything else, FOLLOW THE MONEY.
I am SO grateful I am out of school now, and grateful not to have close relatives at an age to be in the school system either. Infinite YUCK!

OTOH, an 80% lawyer rake means they weren’t too excited about their case’s prospects. The usual speculative fee is more like one third.

The sad thing is that it’s school money being paid to her. So that’s $800k that they could have used for books or building repairs.
All lawyers will see is a firm soaking a district for $650k and wanting to get in on the action.

That caught my attention. Holy cow. These people picked the wrong lawyer apparently. That is almost robbery. I can’t see how that can be legal.

We all are going to pay for this in one way or the other. What I mean is, I can’t see this going back to normal. I think we will see it get worse. I totally blame the Kardashian-Jenner family for all of these problems we have seen in the last 15 years. First they introduced us to reality programming and then treated us to a transgender shit sandwich. Our country will go down to tubes due to this one family.

I doubt it. I am sure the insurance company will pay this. The schools hardly lose anything out of these lawsuits except embarrassment in some cases.
