I will not try to judge a parent in their grief.

But then, that is exactly what the article is asking us to do. They are asking us to learn something from examining how this man reacts to devastatingly painful news....and making it about mere politics.

Some military personnel have to fight battles on the home front, too. It must be difficult to be torn between love of country, and love for a family that doesn’t share that love. I wonder if he knew they would carry their hate for America so far as to spit on his grave.

As I recall, the father admittedly had a somewhat estranged relationship with his son after the parents divorced, living in different states etc Most striking was the fathers indifference and attitude towards his son’s widow. The widow was definitely not on the same page as her FIL.

I am sorry a good Navy seal was killed. But how can people not know that death on a mission is a very real possibility? I don’t know the merits of the mission but our troops are not promised that every fight will be perfectly planned and executed. When a mission like this goes bad people should not assume ill intent or rash judgment on the part of the President.
