Immigration advocates want larger concessions and point to the Dream Act, introduced by Sens. Lindsay Graham, R-South Carolina, and Dick Durbin, D-Illinois, which would protect 1.7 million Dreamers.

690,000, 1.2 million, 1.7 million it's going to be 1986 all over again when the Simpson–Mazzoli Bill stated 2 million illegals would be allowed to stay and it ended up being 14 million. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me.

I can’t believe Republicans in South Carolina tolerate this swisher Graham as their senator.

These stories keep appearing and then Trump shoots them down.

I think this is lie-beral wishful thinking

I hope there is no chain migration or path to citizenship.

WTH is going on here... I thought the 800,000 number existed because that’s how many were here. So, that number was a lie?

1)These wetbacks are already here and getting near full benefits in states like CA.
2)If chain migration is limited to the nuclear family it will be worth cutting a deal.

We can day dream about deporting them but the reality is that isn’t going to happen. So the options are cutting a deal on DACA or continuing an illegal program. The next Dem POTUS will just legalize all of them so it is in our interest to let POTUS make a deal here.

This is most certainly something to worry about, isn’t it? I mean that’s why this Calif rag printed it, to worry the Trump supporters and to give false hope to the illegals.

I personally think this is propaganda, part of the tripe that’s been spewing from the MSM since election day.

I can see all the FR handwringer’s and pants wetters fretting over Trump caving, which is the exact intent of the article.

I think, if this RUMOR were to happen.....POTUS would find a way to clean up the welfare rolls, to remove ILLEGALS/NON-CITIZENS, thus sending most of these leaches packing.

I can dream.

Trump BUILD THE WALL.

Now. First. Do that, THEN (and only then) you can “protect” immigrants.

But enough with the protection for now. Protect US.

Not a Serious Solution

The Flake-Graham-Durbin proposal is not a serious solution to protect the American people but a giant step in the wrong direction,” Gidley said. “The President was clear in a bipartisan bicameral public meeting that national security must include four issues: border security, ending chain migration, stopping the visa lottery and a responsible solution to DACA.

What I've learned from the last year of Trump is to wait for the final deal to be struck, and to not get too worked up about the back-and-forth of public negotiations. I don't buy all the "4D chess" stuff but when it comes to negotiation, Trump has spent a lifetime doing it and doing it well. He knows what he's doing.

If Trump delivers a deal in which the border wall gets built, chain migration is ended and 1.2 million illegals are amnestied, that's a win. Those people are already here and the overwhelming majority will never be deported. The border wall is not here. Get it built and stipulate that none of the 1.2 million can bring their family members in, and Trump has delivered.

Here's all you need to know about how this immigration issue is playing out for the GOP:

Senator Pat Toomey of PA has plenty of detractors here on FR by people who consider him a RINO. He'd love to legalize 25 million illegal aliens, I'm sure. He just endorsed immigration hardliner Lou Barletta to be the GOP challenger to Sen. Bob Casey (D) in November.

These RINOs know damn well which way the political winds are blowing these days.
