DHS waives more than 30 environmental laws to speed Trump's border wall
Washington Examiner ^ | 1/22/18 | John Siciliano

The Trump administration is waiving more than 30 environmental rules to accelerate the construction of President Trump's proposed border wall in New Mexico, forcing environmental groups to consider another round of lawsuits.

The Department of Homeland Security published a notice Monday that said the waiver was necessary to ensure the "expeditious construction of barriers" near the Santa Teresa Land Port of Entry.

"The Secretary of Homeland Security has determined, pursuant to law, that it is necessary to waive certain laws, regulations and other legal requirements in order to ensure the expeditious construction of barriers and roads in the vicinity of the international land border of the United States," according to a notice published in the Federal Register.

The waiver included rules and requirements under several top federal environmental rules, including the National Environmental Policy Act, the Endangered Species Act, the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, the National Historic Preservation Act, the Clean Air Act, the Archaeological Resources Protection Act, the Safe Drinking Water Act, and the Noise Control Act.

The waiver would allow the administration to begin replacing vehicle barriers with bollard walls along a 20-mile stretch of the U.S.-Mexico border west of El Paso, Texas, at the New Mexico land border port.

"The United States Border Patrol’s El Paso Sector is an area of high illegal entry," according to the Department of Homeland Security's notice, stating the need for the waiver. "The El Paso Sector therefore remains an area of high illegal entry for which there is an immediate need to construct border barriers and roads."

The Center for Biological Diversity, the first group to sue the Trump administration over the wall last year, said Monday that it is considering a new lawsuit to address this latest waiver.

“The Trump administration is stopping at nothing to ram through this destructive border wall,” said Brian Segee, a senior attorney for the group. “Trump’s divisive border wall is a humanitarian and environmental disaster, and it won’t do anything to stop illegal drug or human smuggling.”

The environmental group sued the administration last year for a previous waiver of conservation rules to build a portion on the wall near San Diego. A hearing on the case in the federal district court of San Diego occurs next month on Feb. 9. The group argued that the wall violates the endangered species law by cutting off species' migratory patterns and ignoring protected habitat.

"Beyond jeopardizing wildlife, endangered species and public lands, the U.S.-Mexico border wall is part of a larger strategy of ongoing border militarization that damages human rights, civil liberties, native lands, local businesses and international relations," the group said.

Funny Tijuana story. Well maybe not that funny, but here goes.

So me and my friends were in Tijuana one time. I was maybe 17 or so. Maybe 18, I forget. Anyway we are looking for a titty bar. We go into this one. Nobody's in there and there is this fat, sloppy lady up on the stage. We drink one beer, look around, go this sucks, and leave. RIGHT next door is another one. We go in.

Place is packed. Up on the stage is THE most hottest little senorita you could ever imagine. All I can remember is perfection and a little shell anklet. Over at a booth by us there's this Navy looking guy sitting with like four Mexicanhookers. He was alone and drunk off his ass. They were all over him. I just knew he was fixin' to at least get his wallet lifted if not have his kidney stolen.

If I had more balls at the time (I do now), I would'a got homeboy out of there. I have sinned along the way, this is true.

The end.

They don’t need to be citizens to pick tomatoes. There’s absolutely no reason for it. This amnesty business reeks of social engineering.

The leftist CBD is a very well funded and staffed organization that takes environmental issues to the extreme. However, they are all about filing lawsuits at the drop of a darter-snail, and it is costing the Government tens of millions of dollars a year to defend against them and has overstretched the legal staff to a dangerous point of rendering them less than effective.

It is an old American communist tactic to overwhelm the courts by suing any government law enforcement agency the Left wants to tie up in law suits. This happened in the 60’s and 70’s with Communist Party USA legal fronts and their split-off creations and has continued to this day.

These fronts include the National Emergency Civil Liberties Committee - NECLC, cited by Congress as a CPUSA front; the very old, Soviet-created US arm of their International Association of Democratic Lawyers (IADL), the National Lawyers Guild (NLG), also cited; the NLG’s child, the Marxist dominated and often Marxist headed Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR); and regional anti-FBI/CIA/Law enforcement fronts such as the Chicago Committee to Defend the Bill of Rights, the CP-dominated “Committee for Public Justice”, and various “Alliances for” justice, etc.

Check out who is providing massive legal services for the DACA and illegal immigration organizations, as well as for the Black Panther Party, Black Lives Matter, and other street thugs.

This is something that is not being reported in the news, even in most conservative news organizations/shows, etc.

Environmental groups (always libs) will tie this up in the courts as they find countless birds, insects, bats, salamanders, snails, etc. who will go extinct if the Wall is built. I’ve seen it for years in Austin. They invent new species to complain that they are endangered and will be wiped out forever if the Wall gets built. They’ll run to some liberal judge with their “proof” and next thing you know, the whole project is bogged down in restraining orders.

With Trump’s new leadership at the EPA, we have a fighting chance to see the project through. If it was Obama’s cast of clowns, there would be no way in hell they would get the project done.

I have it on good authority that they are planning a door with a big sign that says "Free Tacos" and a tunnel that leads you to a cantina in Tijuana.

I've seen here on FR about E-Verify, but never knew the details, and, well, didn't get around to websearching it yet.

Thanks for the little eye opener, and do tell more if you are ever inclined.
