Just heard Sen Van Holland talk about this on PBS. The RAT plan is to get the bill out of the Senate and use town halls to force a vote in the House.
This helps to establish where his mind is. From Wikipedia:

If he has all the democrat senators and about four Republican squishes, he only has about fifty-two or three. And then there is the filibuster rule.

McConnell committed to free, open debate on the floor of the Senate and then a vote on “immigration”.
Nothing else.
And the House and POTUS made no commitments whatsoever.

If I understand and believe this story, it raises a great amount of fear that this DACA thing could be passed if it gets 51 votes. Do we thank Mitch or is this a different situation?

What was Schumer going to say? He blinked. He has to say he got something for it. The point is that if he had the cards, he would have already gotten the stuff he's claiming was promised.
Whether or not Schumer got a promise like that from someone, he has no leverage to enforce it, because Trump just showed he has the power to veto anything he doesn't like. Trump is just getting started. It was a stupid move by the Dems to focus everything on DACA, since it actually has less popular support as time passes. I'm actually amazed. Trump is just not afraid of them, and they don't know what to do.

The only deal that can pass the Senate is one Trump wants.

No sir. He acceded to a wall killing free standing vote on daca. We were brutally screwed. We had victory and pissed it away, I think he did it for the rinos. Trump must now veto a popular bill.
