New applications for unemployment insurance benefits plunged by 41,000 to 220,000 in the second week of 2018, the Labor Department reported Thursday, the lowest level in nearly 45 years.

The report easily beat forecasters expectations for new jobless claims to drift down to around 250,000.

The Trump administration and congressional Republicans have stated that they want to maintain a high level of job creation not only decrease unemployment, but also boost the labor force participation rate by encouraging people who have retired or quit the workforce to seek out jobs.

Actually I think you are not correct there.

China controls, I believe, what is taught in churches there.

Vietnam for example, does not control what is taught in churches here.

China is four or five times the population of America. We are being very foolish, to allow it to grow so large economically, compared with America. So quickly.

In my view. China is not the same as America.

Why are we treating it, as if it is?

(I know the answer to that question, but I will let you dwell on it - I won’t respond to my own question)

Trump (seemed) to get that.

But even Trump isn’t responding yet. And China just continues to grow, and grow, and grow.

And grow.

China is also building a lot of crap into itself that America would never countenance.

This joke’s punchline may take a long time to come home to China, but come home it will, probably with much anger at those who inveigled China into trashing itself for treasure.

I know you are not correct — China has uncensored foreigner churches. Missionaries know.

And China builds more and more and more crap into itself.

At some point a tipping point is reached. You deny humans are humans. I don’t.

I don’t know.

I had heard differently. China still does have censors in churches.

I think.

Vietnam does not. Now I am not involved in churches here at all, but I am just saying, I had understood that China does not allow them true freedom.

Vietnam does.

Don’t want to get too far into that subject though. I am just saying what I understand.

Maybe I am incorrect. But maybe not.

Ask missionaries if you want to know what’s going on.

Anyhow, China is composed of humans. Humans do have limits and can bite off more than they can chew.

Nah, it’s easier to sit in a subsidized commie country and give America the bird while being ignorant of civics and religion.

And really that’s about as kind as I can put it. Even market communists need customers. And nobody will put up forever with how communism evolves.

And yet the labor participation rate is slightly below the level when Trump took office.

Yeah - can't find anything at all or just can't find the plum of a job where you make $100K for 6 hours of work a week?

Maybe Bannon can find you something.....

The Labor Participation Rate is the key. The time will come when Trump gets around to correcting the mess that government statistics have become, but for a while he’s tackling bigger problems and the bragging rights are politically useful.
