Georgia Republican Sen. David Perdue said Sunday that President Donald Trump did not use the phrase "shithole countries" during a meeting with lawmakers on immigration reform last week.
"I'm telling you he did not use that word, George, and I'm telling you it's a gross misrepresentation," Perdue told moderator George Stephanopoulos on ABC's "This Week." During an Oval Office meeting on immigration Thursday, Trump expressed frustration with people coming to the United States from "shithole countries," sources told CNN.

They thought that they had roiled Trump. When Trump stood his ground, Durbin was the designated liar in order to torpedo any Trump solution to a problem. This means that they will attempt to shut down the government and blame the “Sh*t hole” Trump (their words)...

Outrageous, hurtful and damaging statements by people like Durbin and Flake do seem to be deliberate to cause maximum disruption.
The only explanation that makes sense to me now is “diabolical disorientation.”
I found a new prayer that helps me settle down when I feel surging anger at news reports:

Nice of Perdue to play defense for Trump; but Trump needs to get into permanent campaign mode, get back on the offensive, and get his message out about how to make America great. And never enter a room to talk with Durbin without lots of friendly witnesses present.
If McConnell weren’t one of the biggest Trump-haters in Congress, he’d rein Flake in. McConnell plays for the Democrat team, and barely bothers to hide it.
It is not that the President talks dirty, Dick Durbin just HEARS dirty.
