Insider Reveals Upcoming White House Concealed Carry Meeting

Republican North Carolina Rep. Richard Hudson believes law-abiding Americans should be allowed to carry their concealed weapons in every state, and he’s hoping the White House will help him soon make that a reality.

“I can tell you, the president’s ready to sign this law,” Hudson told The Daily Caller Wednesday in an exclusive interview on the subject for TheDC’s “Newsmakers” series.

“President Trump actually campaigned on concealed carry reciprocity,” the North Carolina Republican recalled. “We’ve got a partner in the White House and we just got to get it to his desk.”

Hudson introduced the House version of the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act on January 3, 2017, and the bill finally passed on December 6. Hudson says he spoke with the president at the time, and is set to meet with Trump’s staff this coming week.

“I spoke to [Trump] very briefly in December, and I’ve been talking with his staff,” Hudson revealed. “I’ve got a meeting actually next week over there to see what we can do together to help continue the momentum coming off this House vote.”

Currently, concealed carry reciprocity is handled individually by each state. Virginia, for instance, respects concealed carry permits issued by 25 other states.

But some states don’t look kindly on Americans who carry firearms through their jurisdiction.

To avoid being just another sh**hole country, we need to re-enforce our 2nd amendment rights. Well if they needed it.

You can bet the one thing that scares Jerry Nadler and the big money Presstitutes more than anything else is a well informed, armed resident of Alabama visiting New York City.

we need to get rid of all these unconstutional laws, not just let the government issue licenses or ‘permits’ (sic) to exercise our inalienable rights

My state of NY…places like Jersey, Massachusetts, Hawaii and California will screw this up and arrest legal CCW holders even if a federal law is passed.

But pass it PLEASE we need a starting point.

I am nervous about turning this over to the Feds, but it appears to be the only way to get this done.

It will. The only way I see it being passed is to insert it in a "Must Pass" spending bill.

That current CR expires January 19th. They could try it then. But that would take Mitch McConnell to play ball, and I doubt he wants to.

The Democrats would also howl. But if their back was against the wall........

NY is a ‘may issue’ state. After jumping through hoops you may get, by a county authority, a concealed carry permit that is extremely restrictive depending on which county you’re using it in. It’s good throughout the state with the exception of NYC. If you’re a rock star or a big shot ie an elite, why you can get a NYC permit with no restrictions good throughout state. Citizens need not apply.

Any federal law will be treated like the cities and states who declare themselves sanctuary cities. Totally non complaint.

Yes pass the popcorn 🍿

I would rather suffer the lack of reciprocity with other states than have the Federal Government force the issue. It is not granted to the Fed to force its will on the States, no matter how much people want something. It is a States issue, not the fed’s. This is a huge mistake. Leave each state to feel the pressure from neighboring states to make this change, otherwise liberty will once again be assaulted as this slides into a gun control through the back door scenario, under the control of far-away bureaucrats.
