“...Any wall that is not FULLY FUNDED is never going to be completed....”
********************************************** I have a critical change to this sentence as follows:

Any wall that is not FULLY COMPLETED is never going to be completed.

You are SPOT ON!!!

If Government contractors are going to be awarded a contract to build the wall rather the the Army Corps of Engineers or some such other Government branch/department, a MULTI-YEAR contract could be utilized which would include such a high potential termination cost that most of America would argue with the politicians in congress that the work need to be completed. NOT a sure fire answer, but might go toward ensuring more than just a token first year effort got started. DOD uses this contracting method often - e.g. the contract to McDonald Douglas/Boeing for the acquisition of production lots of C-17s over a span of many years. Sure annual funding was still required to be appropriated but the cost of NOT fulfilling the total production commitment was SUBSTANTIAL and the Government would be left with a pile of junk called "LONG-LEAD ITEMS".

I still would argue a multi-year contract would be an incentive to completing the wall. Remember there are a lot of never-TRUMPER on the GOPee side that want continued open borders in order to draw in the cheap labor who also incidentally not subject to our legal system and all the attendant law suits.

The problem is President Trump. He promised over and over and over that Mexico will pay for the wall.

There have been 8 proposal submittals and a selection of one or two can be made.

But...... mexico has not fessed up the construction money. No money, no wall. Congress will not provide the money. there is simply not enough votes

“...there is simply not enough votes”
************************************
If we’re careful to avoid supporting open-borders globalists in Republican primaries this year we may have enough new CRITICAL votes in Congress (both House & Senate) to redirect the actions of Congress.

Above all, we must not be defeatist!

That WALL can be built in 3 years of less.

Put out the call for VOLUNTEERS who have construction backgrounds.

Put out the call for VOLUNTEERS to feed the workers.

Provide the groceries-—and have it prepared by Volunteers.

Set up portable CAMPS for laundry & showers, etc.

That WALL can be completed in 3 years.

Refuse to deal with /or negotiate every little piddling claim against the WALL being built.

IT must be built under Trump-—of it will never get completed & prove him correct about the problem of the illegals.

Apple has over $252 BILLION offshore,

They have stated thy will take advantage of Trump’s ONE TIME proposal to bring that money back into the USA at a tax rate of 15.5%. $252 Billion times 15.5 % = $39,060,000,000.

That is $39 BILLION PLUS. More than enough to build the WALL RIGHT NOW.

A wall, a 100 yard dense minefield, and then another wall. Bingo, that is MY wall!

A wall is more difficult to build than going to the moon the first time?

If Trump screws us over an a legitimate wall, he’s done. If it is not mostly finished by the end of his first term, he’ll pay for it at the polls.

You miss the point.

First Trump campaigned on the fact the Mexicans would pay for the wall.

The funds appropriated for foreign aid or any other thing can not be spent on the wall.

The critical factor is that there is not the political will in the congress to appropriate the money required for the wall construction. The political will to re appropriate the money is simply not there.

That is in my view of the reality. Trump knew that reality very well and thus sourced Mexico for the funds. His task now is to force or cajole Mexico to fess up

I got a MUCH easier solution. Won’t cost a plugged nickel and as LEGAL as the all get-out: Eliminate the welfare state in any/all forms and prosecute any/all illegal activity on the govt side of equation to the full extent of the Law (w/ a CORRECT reading of the 14th A.).

Not a damn thing else need be done for 5 yrs. to check the ‘fall-out’ of said policies.

Funny thing what FOLLOWING the Constitution can solve...

A lot of that money is paid to US companies which provide the overseas aid and services. They all have lobbyists who persuade Congresscritters to do what they want through campaign contributions. Although that $50 billion seems like a lot it is only 1% of the overall federal budget. Many people think it is a much bigger percentage. Follow the money.

Just build the wall — ALL THE WALL or no daca. You build 10% of the wall you get 10% of daca, no chain migration and prison if you do not verify employables.

“A wall, a 100 yard dense minefield, and then another wall.”

I always favored servo operated machine guns with interlocking fields of fire, linked to motion sensors.

Sorry about that, Mr. Gila Monster. Next!
