Don’t hire women, problem solved.
been there
Well, that’s very stylish.
In the name of equality, will “Icelandic Women’s Rights Association” be disbanded or is there a “Icelandic Men’s Rights Association”?
Eventually some Socialist government will post everybody’s W2 in an online database.
My, how very statist of them.
Yup, that’ll work. /s
Equal pay for unequal work.
Karl Marx lives!
It is already the law in the United States.
In the same job, men and women are paid the same.
Maybe Iceland is requiring something different.
It they require that men doing commercial piloting be paid the same as secretaries, it is not equal pay.
Do the women do the dangerous jobs that men do?
When will it become illegal to pay lower performing employees less ?
This will also mean the end of raises or bonuses for any man ... what employer would want to deal with the lawsuits sure to come when some woman didn’t get the same, regardless of whether she deserved one?
Not much heavy lifting gonna get done THERE!
........well, I think I read the entire article sandwiched between a thousand advertisements and I did not see any “equal pay” for “equal work” and “equal experience”.
So, are we to believe that in Iceland a company that has a “man” with a PHD and 20 years experience in his field must be paid the same as the lady that cleans the office?
Each employee, man or woman, should have his/her salary determined individually based on the nature of the job, level of experience, ability to perform the job, etc.
The only way for this to be implemented is for everyone to know what everyone else is making. Indians seem to be OK with this, but Westerners tend to want to keep their salaries to themselves.
I see a sea of lawsuits.

3rd best country in the world. Hope this doesn’t ruin it. We are 13th. lol. USA!!!!!
More absurd regulation.
Now companies of 26 and more employees need to create reports and the government needs to create a bureocracy to read them.
And on top of that, this is a sexist, overbearing regulation. What if two employees have the same job title and function.. and one is more capable than the other? Under a fair environment the more capable employee would earn more.
However, now the company would be forced to pay the less capable employee equal pay to the other, but only if it turns out to be a woman, but not the other way around.
Seems to me very discriminatory and sexist.
In fine, to guarantee there is not a wage gap for reasons that do not have to do with merit, will require all people be paid the same regardless of merit.
